What do you suppose we can do to really improve our community?

Really, how can this community be improved? There's no contest in saying that the community is extremely large, and with a large community comes just about every type of behavior from "super nice guy" to "I don't care" to "I want to troll" to "I want to be an ass". People are always talking about how the community is extremely toxic, and it's really not super far off. While I don't think the community is quite as bad as people make it out to be, it could definitely use some work.

So, back to my question. What could be done to improve our community? Is it even possible?

  1. Fix auto-fill to always assign those who queue up as support to the support role, while add it make it do a final check to make sure roles were assigned in the best possible way ex: top main gets mid while mid main gets top....

  2. Revamp the honor system so people feel more invlined to earn and give out honor

  3. Bring back the tribunal

  4. Revamp ranked sysytem to a point based mmr system over a win/loss mmr system. Even if your team loses if you earned enough points (earned by killing enemies, getting assists, warding, taking towers/inhibs/nexus, securing objectives) you can still gain LP for being a good player.

  5. Allow for muting of pings ontoo of the normal chat mute.

  6. Rework the surrender system or make queues specifically for people who refuse to ff no matter what.

These would greatly reduce toxicity and make the game better.

1- improve the automated system that is currently engaged with combating the toxicity 2- Provide a larger but faster punishment system instead of 4 step, increase to 6 remove the 10 chat restriction- go to 24 hr game time chat ban remove 25 game chat restriction goto 1 week game time chat ban add- 1- day ban add- 3 day ban Keep 14 day ban Change perma ban, to suspension Add an appeal process for accounts that currently are banned, if they fail the appeals process perma ban account without exception

Player tribunal that works with the IFS to a limited scope to handle chat offences

Do not add a remake in pregame lobby Do not increase the current remake option past the 6 min marker

An easier way for a player to see their account report status, bi monthly or weekly

How to fix your community? It's simple

Throw out everything Riot Lyte employed into the community that turned it toxic in the first place

Instead of perma banning accounts from playing for "toxic trash talk", perma mute them in game

Players who intentionally feed and purposely leave games, ban them from playing ranked.

I can be completely honest in saying I was perma banned in 2014 for being super toxic to players who intentionally fed games it was wrong to do but I felt fighting back against trolls was the only true way of dealing with them since they would just evade bans anyways by using throw away accounts, but when I was muted for being toxic against those players I quit being toxic and started playing games as a duo que with an employee at riot and actually turned my act around. At that point it was already too late and when the wave of permabans hit I was one of the small percentage to receive a permanent ban. After my ban I never returned to the game until tonight because I've had the slight urge to try playing the game again but I don't feel like being one of those jerks who gets banned makes a new account and curb stomp players as a smurf for 30 account levels it just feels scummy, so the idea of giving players a 2nd chance to prove they've reformed would actually be a really nice feature.

the major issue is the fact that those that join rank for the first time have little to no knowledge of the game rush 16 hero and here get wiped out riot did a very poor job to get they're player ready for many different situation that are common place in ranked. Like in a majority of my match most players on my team could be literally be replaced by easy ai and it would improve the team sadly.

Increase education on the allowable / not allowed behaviors.

Let people know more often and clearly that bad behavior isn't tolerated.

Increase visibility of the system and how it works.

More tools for people whom are self aware of their toxicity to be able to control themselves.

I would start with: remove all chat from the game. remove jokes/taunts/mastery icons cross-teams.

Neither if these prove healthy for people's mental state in a game. It's too competitive for some.

There is no improving this dumpster-fire community. r1t0 has let the inmates run the asylum for far, far too long. There's no coming back from this... even if they wanted to. Just smile and nod as the ship slowly submerges, lol.
