I'm not gonna be one of those guys who's super surprised he got banned but tbh I really don't see what Riot's endgame is. If they actually want people to reform they should punish trolls and fix matchmaking. Only going after people who react strongly is going to fix absolutely nothing, I'm just going to make another account and do the exact same thing. They're trying to cure the symptoms instead of the actual disease and turning the entire community into a bunch of crybabies.

Take this game for example, Aatrox who is going top has smite, I ask him why and he proceeds to tell me he's going devourer. I tell him to get TP as this is a horrible idea, he doesn't listen and proceeds to feed. If you are ruining my experience and making me waste my time how the hell am I supposed to stay calm and accept that you not only made me waste 30 mins of my time but also cancelled out the previous 30 mins I spent making the LP that I just lost because of you .

So here's the thing.

Your Aatrox doing badly doesn't excuse you throwing a tantrum in chat. At all. That was entirely your choice. The reason you're banned is that acting like that isn't welcome in this game.

But my Aatrox ignoring advice given to him and proving me right doesn't deserve any type of sanction? I mean when did we get sensitive to the point where calling someone bad is considered verbal abuse. I get it if there is hate speech and cursing but seriously how is this considered abuse?? I feel like people who play video games are way too sheltered.

It doesn't matter if you think people should be allowed to trash talk in the game. It really doesn't. It's against the rules. If you do it, you'll get punished for it. You agreed to not trash talk when you installed the game, you did anyway, so you got punished.

You're still not addressing the issue at hand. I'm saying that Riot's approach is ineffective. If you've ever played CS;GO you'll know that the community is way less toxic and they have practically no code of conduct enforcement.

STOP making up excuses, this won't ever lead to anything. Your mindset is seriously faulty, and judging by how you didn't get that message the first 3 times you got punished and now you're even here DEFENDING your obviously toxic actions by basically saying "he had it coming", I wouldn't be surprised if you don't even make it past level 10 before getting punished again. Seriously, in this post alone you already made TWO EXCUSES, without taking responsibility for your actions EVEN ONCE. "I'm the symptom, cure the disease instead" -> I'm not fully responsible for my actions. "Aatrox built devourer and wouldn't do what I tell him" -> He's responsible for my toxic actions, he's the disease.

Seriously dude, rethink your attitude. You're only making the experience worse, for yourself as well as for other.

Some people are more competitive than others, I am one of those people. If you punish only people who get passionate and let any person who plays carelessly ruin the experience with total impunity how do you think things will ever get better. I'm not making excuses I'm saying there needs to be moderation on both sides. I also think only hate speech and ACTUAL verbal abuse should be permaban worthy.

There IS moderation on both sides. People who INTENTIONALLY, not bad players but people who intentionally lose games are getting punished.

We know that because some of those come to the boards after and complain about their permabans even though they never said anything banworthy.

This likely would have only given you a chat restriction. However, if you got a permanent ban, that means you have a history of being punished. You have received multiple other punishments in the past and you have chosen to not change your behavior to fit the rules to which you agreed. This is why you received a permanent ban.

Permanent bans aren't only for extreme cases of toxicity, they are also for players who commit lesser offenses repeatedly.

So... You could just mute them, play normally, then report them after the game. Or, you could decide to retaliate by being an ass while trying to "defend yourself" and then get a ban. And then you question why you got banned. Hmm, gee, I wouldn't know! [zombie-brand-facepalm]

I just feel like not everyone has the same ''passion'' and level of competitiveness so you people are basically responding from a different perspective. I never enjoyed losing and coming from a background of team sports I can tell you that this kind of ''banter'' is seen as normal. I really believe this community is way too sheltered and babied. Case in point look at the CS:GO community.

See this guy gets it. It's like people who are competitive and want to progress at the game are supposed to quietly accept all the careless and selfish players who ruin the experience. It's hard to keep your cool sometimes that's all I'm saying. Again, only hate speech and REAL verbal abuse should result in a permanent ban.

You can be competitive and not be a jerk. This is the main thing you have not figured out yet.

"Competitive" is not a nice way of saying "sore loser." It's a different thing. You, sir, are a sore loser, and you're toxic. That's simply not the same thing as competitive.

Competitive means to try your best, no matter what the circumstance are. You aren't doing that. You are flaming your team when they do badly instead of focusing on your game. That's not competitive. That's just being immature.

Which brings me to my next point, Riot's "endgame" is to have a game that people can enjoy, even if they are bad. When people like you are playing, that can't happen, because you are a jerk and you keep people from having fun. So... yeah. Get good, and you won't have to play with idiots. Until then, try not to be such a downer.
