Unpunished Trolling

So apparently it's totally cool to provoke people by trolling and chosing to not help the team at anything but the moment you type something you get banned. I don't understand the way the tribunal works maybe, but I hope you guys help me with that. So yesterday I played a game with a friend of mine and we had the chance to get an Ori support on our team, I didn't mind it, but the guy was not doing anything for the team and kept watching us die while spamming "Was that me?" emote, I don't know about you but this kind of stuff would really get anyone on their nerves. So yes I typed some bad things to him, but is it really a reason for me to get chat restricted, have my honor level dropping and being forbiden from free loot? Didn't he deserve a ban instead? Or at least both of us? This morning I log in and find out that I got the chat restrict, I just accepted it and didn't wanna contact the support and cry about it, but when I queued for a ranked, I got an adc Trynda who pretty much did the same thing as Ori yesterday, he didn't feed, but he had 9 cs at 15 minutes, kept wandering in the map not doing anything and pretending to be THAT bad, it doesn't count as being afk or feeding but he totally trolled the game. And we lost. I don't expect them to do anything about it, I'm just letting them know that by not punishing this kind of behavior the game experience is getting worse and worse, and they might just disable ranked until they find a solution for this because seeing your efforts going to waste because of a troll and not even an unskilled teamate is honestly depressing.

No, it's not. It can be harder to detect sometimes, but it isn't okay and it is punished when identified.

The moment you type enough that is against the rules to earn yourself the next level of punishment, yes. You can type all you want provided your behavior does not violate the rules.

Without seeing the chat logs I can't say, but likely, yes. Typing bad things at people isn't okay.

It's possible that he deserved a punishment as well -- and it's also possible that he GOT one and that you simply didn't get alerted to it.

It's possible that he just WAS that bad in that game, but if the system identifies this behavior as consistent and intentional vs. his normal gameplay, it will hit him eventually. It just takes longer to identify this sort of trolling than it does to identify something simple like verbal abuse.
