Got Banned 14 days flaming a support who left bot to die at 3 minutes in, should this be banworthy?

Hello everyone,

I got banned 14 days flaming a support who refused to support his ad, went mid and jungle, taking their xp and gold, all because the ad was having temporary ping issues that lasted a whole 5 minutes.

Here's the chat log of the game and the post game,

Do you think that this is ban worthy? If so, i guess I can accept the punishment and try to reform i guess. But if you don't think this is ban worthy, as I do, to flame these bastards who purposefully ruin everyone's game, I might just quit because I think this system is legitimately broken then.

You aren't going to ever get rid of flame in a game like this, and I see people who say much worse things than this on a daily basis in the game who largely won't face repercussions.

I just don't see how people can stand playing this game when shit like this happens without any visible repercussions to the actual troll of the game, and why does Riot care more about what people say than what they actually do? You can mute chat and pings and solve that problem easily, but trolling is actually impossible to avoid, and is a lot more negative for people than someone calling you a %%%%%% on the internet or something.

Btw the support was in a series, and purposefully wouldn't surrender or let us open up a lane to push.

Yes, you deserve it. Not only were you being inflammatory, you were insulting your team throughout the game. Doesn't matter if you didn't start it, it's not kindergarten. If you flame, you're getting the penalty. Regardless of the situation, you deserve it.

Next penalty will be a permaban if you keep going down this path.

People do shit worse than this all the time in the game, and i know a lot of friends who have done it and not received any repercussions for it, it seems very random and sporadic when they do lay the ban hammer down.

I agree, it isn't kindergarten, and people who purposefully taunt and troll the game are off scott free while the person who retaliates and calls them out on bullshit gets punished. This is the internet, you aren't going to solve the issue of flaming with a flat ban for anyone who does this, that way players just abuse the system by reporting someone who they don't agree with.

I don't have a recent history of flaming people, either, this kind of came from nowhere.

I'm struggling with the deserved it part, the person who is getting flamed can mute the people flaming, you can mute pings, you can basically not have any communication with anyone ever if you wanted to play that way. Chat is negotiable, trolling is non-negotiable, Why do I get slapped with a ban hammer when the other player i know got off free when he unquestionably ruined the game for the whole team?

How about this, I'll change my position, as to why the hell did the other player not get banned? I've seen this happen before with other people, and I am okay with a chat ban, or a chat restriction. But the player who did something that there was legitimately nothing I could do about and ruined the game for the whole team gets off for free? It just seems like Riot cares more about what people say than what they actually do, and that is easily abuse able for anyone who is smart enough to know how it works.

Again. It's not about them. It's about you. Regardless of you want to believe or want to change, this case will only be about you. Riot cares about a friendly environment and fun competitive players. Not assholes. Everything you did was against the Terms of Use. When the Terms of Use is disregarded by the player, Riot discards the player's account.

Then I might stop playing this game. If the terms of use are that, as you can say because I sure as hell don't read those, then that means that the situations happening in almost 1/5 of my ranked games (on both teams) where someone decides to purposefully throw a game are inherently unfair, which will always cause flame and frustration. Any frustration exhibited by the players most affected by the situation is going to be the only thing exhibited to the system, which seemingly only looks at the chat logs to determine who is the guilty party.

This system treats the symptoms, not the underlying issue of having a team-based game with no actual accountability.

Riot bans toxic players because they don't want them here. Period. So they won't mind and the community definitely won't mind if you leave. That's what the ban means to Riot and to the community.

Players who lack self-control and empathy should never be here in the first place, that's why the terms of use were made. Riots will take any level of actions to ensure that if a toxic player is being consistently negative and ruining people's game regardless of the situation or who started it, they will gladly and surely get rid of their accounts.

One question/note: How do you know they didn't get a chat punishment? You won't get a notification for chat punishments that are result from your reports, and you have no way of knowing if they can still chat or not after you aren't in a match with them. (And even chat punished people still have some chat use allowed). Thus there is no way for you to know if they got chat punishment or not. Only they and Riot knows that.

Just like the Zombie Gerbil tells you, you are punished for your deeds. They are punished for theirs. Everyone is responsible for his own behavior only and is punished for that only. So, do not retaliate. Instead follow this guideline in future if you wish to keep your account; if someone annoys you; mute them, don't talk back, play as well as you can to the end, report them in the after game lobby, forget them afterwards.

I am fine getting chat restricted or banned for bad things, but why is there no punishment for the other person, especially since the things he did directly affected the game, and I had no control over whether it affected me or not. I've said this multiple times.

Reading OP comments. First he says how it is not his fault, because other flamed first. Than he says how it is not fair, because what some other players do is worse. And now he threatens to leave, because Riot is unfair. I think I saw this somewhere else. Oh yes, almost every single player that got 14 days ban or permaban.

Just because according to you, someone else being toxic means everyone should, does not mean everyone agrees with you.

I said that the game breeds toxicity, and that the way it is designed is not compensated by the system that it has to ban players who exhibit toxic behavior in the game itself, not just the chat.

If you got banned for 14 days - it means riot has already warned you with a chat ban 1 time in the last 3 months.

Every 3 months you fall off 1 tier in punishment. So if you got a chat restriction - then you were good for 3 months. And got in trouble in your 4th month again.... you would get another chat restriction - not a 14 day ban.

Toxicity is part of League. The game design in and of itself creates toxicity. Riot realizes this and gives you a little room as i described above.

This is the sole issue of the "anti-toxicity campaign" Riot is doing. The current system does not penalize trolling by action because it cannot be proved, and people who are on the receiving end who get frustrated to the point of bursting out are victims of the system instead because it is in the logs.

Cannot Riot realize if "trolls by action" are penalized the flaming will not start to begin with? This is common logic.
