LOW ELO AFK

Let's be serious, AFK is a serious issue affecting the health of the game at all elos. However, I believe that it is disproportionately prevalent in low elo and casual game modes. if you want numbers, let's try these numbers. Tonight four out of four games had a person leave the game on my team. that is a 100% ratio. if it is so uncommon, why is it I seem to get at least one EVERY DAY?! My personal story extends beyond this season, The very first season I played I won 8/10 games for my ranked promos. both of my losses were AFKs. in the subsequent season, as I was pushing to try and get into the next tier, I encountered many games where a member of my team up and left for no apparent reason.

I STOPPED PLAYING RANKED because it seemed so horribly common at that low tier level of play. To this day, I seem to be plagued by people afking and taking an auto loss for their team rather than dodging.

I have 2 solutions for this type of behaviour. It has happened to most people where extraneous circumstances result in a disconnection and it ultimately loses your team the game. It happens. However, people ought to be punished accordingly . The punishments for afk are laughably low. In ranked games, they should lose half of the progress to the next level automatically. People will think long and hard about their situation before queuing up if they know it is going to take them 5 wins to make up for their one afk.

In normals and ARAMS afks should automatically require a certain number of bot games before being able to queue up for ANY other game mode, and afking in a bot game results in a ban. repeat and constant offenders would continually incur a greater number of bot games until, they were essentially banned from playing any other game mode until they learn how to finish a game.

in reality, it probably isn't a system that is new to you, or an idea that is new to you. As a long time league player, I get a little frustrated when 100% of my games have someone decide that they dont even want to bother clicking a mouse, knowing that the punishments are so laughable that they arent even worth worrying about. "it's just a casual game mode, right"

I try to win, even when I am playing something I literally have never played before, and I would like to be paired with people who feel the same way.

The thing about that is in low elo, there's a bunch of salty shitheads that think they should be diamond. They rage and flame people alot. It's not until mid gold until that stops. Silver is almost as bad. The ban part shouldn't be a thing. People will finish bot games before the 20 Min mark. It should be like in DotA where they have to play even more. If you abandon in DotA, you get put into low priority where you have to play single draft. Basically how that works is you pick 1 of 3 pre selected champions and you can only play one of those 3. You are unlikely to get your main. Fo all you know, you may have to play some of the hardest heroes in the game. You could get meepo, arc warden, and Chen (not to be confused with shen) who are some of the hardest champions in the whole game. Meepo has you controlling five clones of yourself at once and if one of them dies all of them die and you die. They each have separate cool downs on abilities but not items. You have to have select all units and select all other units bound and your supposed to cycle through with tab by default but for lol controls it's the ~ key. Arc warden is similar but with his items as well. Your ult creates an illusion of yourself that takes more damage than you but can cast spells and use items. It also has separate cool downs on everything. Unlike meepo, you need to know how to set up traps and micro the second clone. He also needs farm but sucks at farming and can't really like people with abilities since his q locks on to the closest enemy unit and his other active ability is just a field that silences enemies and does no damage. Chen has to micro creeps that he persuades and actually use the rest of his kit properly. That can give you whatever since all heroes are free right out of the box.
