Banning a team pick

In the last 20 minutes or so I have had two separate players on my team ban my pick deliberately in champ select. Both times i chose to dodge the game instead of having my game ruined for the time it would run which resulted in a 5 minute and then a 30 minute penelty. Something has to be done about allowing trolls to ban team picks. Could the ability to do this be removed? Like if i pick a champ that i plan to play, could no one on my team be allowed to ban it? I realize i could just pick a replacement champ for my lane and report the player later but this ruins a potential 45 minutes to an hour of game play. Just a thought.

There are downsides to both models -- a trolling teammate could prevent a key pick from being banned and, in doing so, give it to the other team, or a trolling teammate could ban your pick.

It seems Riot has decided that a troll forcing you to pick your SECOND favorite champion in a role is a superior situation to having to play against your LEAST favorite champion. I'm personally in agreement.

Please search the forums before posting as this specific topic has been talked about numerous time in both this forum as well as the game play forum.
Riot considers ban > pick. My choice to ban overrides your choice to pick.
Banning someone's "pick" isn't a punishable offense in and of itself.

9/10 times im banning teemo if my team picks him. i dont want that shit on my team.
