Riot is become draconian

People are messy. Right and wrong changes based on the times to different people. But morality and what is truly good and right will always remain the same. Riot Games has gone too far

Nobody decides who trolls & toxic people are but the community. Riot has overstepped their bounds. And you guys are too OK with it.

This is a sport and a game, not a Autocracy. They make profit, but they still owe their customers for that. Tencent has gone too far with their crushing of individual gamer rights and liberties. A Chinese companies influence can be seen in the management of toxicity and the abandonment of community controls.

I am going to acknowledge that this community used to be volatile beyond belief. Toxic players and AFK ragers used to be everywhere. And in some cases still are. But now they are not in every game. Toxicity is being taken care of in a very strict manner. I love the idea and the study used. It is an Art and not an Exact science though, because people are messy.

The Tribunal has been down since 2014. Since then Chat restriction and automated "player" bans have been amped up and strengthened to add instant feedback so that human psychology can adapt and react better. This is great, and I praise Riot Lyte for his work. But there is a point where this goes too far.

I'm not trying to sound like an anti-federalist of the 1700. But I can't help it. This game is great. In all other aspects except it's social and community regulations. WHICH ARE NECESSARY. But when it comes that I am being banned by a bot with no oversight? That's a little too machine for me.

I need humans to ban me, because I am human. Maybe I talk to much in allchat. Maybe I spam song lyrics nobody wants to see. Maybe I am a general nuisance. I deserve to be banned for cuss words. And sexually suggestive language. I know that kids play this game, and many want to see them grow up in a sheltered and harm free world. I cannot change that, it is how some parents want to raise their kids. And I have no problem with that. But there comes a point where I cannot enjoy the game when it restricts my freedom to use language. I don't cuss anymore. I don't drop f-bombs in allchat. And yet I still feel that my personality gets me banned by a chat bot. I enjoy talking to people of all walks of life. I speak multiple languages. I only seek to connect to those I do not know across the internet. I spend a lot of my time hear, even though I should be outside sucking in vitamin D.

This is a systemic problem from a system I feel, and not me. Many people in this chat and forum are going to disagree with me. And if I have to stand alone against you, so be it.

I drop the "f-bomb" (still don't get this term, we don't have this?!) alot. Like every game I do perform bad (~80 % of my games). No chat restriction nor a band or what ever on 2 accounts.

And how the fuck can a human being more unbiased than a computer? Btw. the Tribunal was much harsher, that's for sure. (I saw "a lot" of false bans back in the days, just because of people knew who they judge because of high elo shit)

I mean, in the end, it's your choice to be toxic or not. That's it. Your choice.

It's not Riot that has a problem with X or Y behavior, it's the players. The players basically vote for what kind of behavior should not be allowed by reporting it, and Riot takes action based on the community's reporting practices. The system is tuned per region and learns based on reports (certain slurs are tolerated more in EU than NA, for example, and it's reflected by their reporting tendencies).

About cursing, that's not really an issue. People do not care about that nearly as much as you think. It's when you are directing it at other players in a negative manner that it becomes a problem, and in those cases, whether there is cursing or not is actually irrelevant most of the time. Simply don't be passive-aggressive or insult people and you're fine.

You seem to think that the automated Instant Feedback System is bad at its job, and that a manual review will show that you were not creating a negative experience for other players. The IFS is actually very accurate at weeding out false reports, with a false positive rate of 1:6000. In nearly every case brought up for manual human review, they agree with the system's verdict. When they don't, it gets overturned anyway.

Besides, how hard is it to not be a jerk?

I mean, if you really feel like you were banned unfairly, send in a support ticket. You can easily get a Rioter to review the chat logs and tell you where you went wrong. If you don't mind posting chat logs (not saying this for you specifically but anyone who reads this) then post them here and let the community decide if your punishment was necessary or not.

The problem with the old Tribunal, is that it worked too slowly and was ineffective. People could stack up thousands of games of chat restrictions, but that didn't really do anything. There were also people getting punished for games that happened months previous. Having humans sort out punishments is severely ineffective and all around just a bad system.

Personally, I don't really care if the Tribunal comes back or not. But if the Tribunal does come back, I think it should be an appeal system, instead of a strict punishment system. I think that way, players are still getting their just deserts, but this way there is also an human interaction.

This is the shittiest TL;DR I've ever read. Anyone got a better one?

You talk too much when you have no clue what you're even talking about.

I think blaming China on your ban is the new utter hilarity.
