Why not a chat restriction?

So my account has been banned for 14 days right away with no warning because of what I have said in a game. I was reported and banned for saying "%%%it". The game was just a joke, everyone was messing around and I even heard one guy say that being gay is bad but it was obviously a joke. I dont think that what I have said in my game should really give me a 14 day suspension because of how this is my first time ever committing this offense and how it wasn't even that big a deal compared to what others have said in my previous games. I know people who all say kys but they only get chat restricted but when I say "%%%it" (as a joke, not trying to be rude to gays) I get a 14 day suspension. How is it okay to tell someone to kill themselves and only get chat restricted while I get a 14 day suspension for saying something not as serious? Please riot look into this and change it or something. If someone who tells another man to kys get chat restricted, I believe I should just be chat restricted aswell.

CASE CLOSED: I understand what I did and I'll just wait the days out and not do it again. Sorry for my behavior

the report system works fine for people who are mature and non toxic.

op you can put in a support ticket but i think the chances of anything changing is slim at best,

Depends where you were in the penalty tier, they could also have given you a escalated punishment

"joking" is not a defense for breaking RIOTS rules of conduct.

I understand that I cant use "joking" as an excuse to break their conduct, but what I am saying is how can someone who states something far worse than what I have said be only given a chat restriction but not me

if you have never been punished before they it must have been a escalated punishment. Riot does that if they feel the infraction was bad enough

This is how the punishment system usually works--as stated riot can and does skip levels at their own discretion,

10 game chat restriction 25 game chat restriction 14 day ban Permanent ban

I suggest being very careful if your at 14 days already the next punishment could be permanent.

Because telling someone to commit suicide just because you're upset in a video game is pretty much among the worst things you can say.

If you call your fellow players noob and idiots you'll get the chat restrictions. Hate speech and telling them to end their lives results in a 14 day ban. Deal with it

Compared to kys? I dont think so... and its definitely not a big enough for a 14 day ban right away

Why do you worry about other people and about kys? Why not take responsibility for your actions?

Do you agree or not agree %%%it is something you should not joke about? This is all that matters.

Im worrying about others say because of how unfair this whole system is. I understand that the term I used is not right at all and that I shouldn't have done it but why do others who use terms far worse get off with punishments that are far less severe than mine.

Telling people to kill themselves gets you banned very easily, I don't know where you're getting this idea that it's treated lightly. Neither that nor using hate speech is tolerated here and will result in an escalated punishment.

If you don't believe me on how kys is treated, simply take a bit and review the chat logs provided by players for their own punishments here on this board; it's quite consistent that it results in an account ban. If there is a case where they received a chat restriction then it would have to be because they have a very positive account history aside from that.

Honor 5 is not an indication that your account is positive.

Honors are gained passively by playing games without getting punished regardless of whether you are honored by other players or not.

Honor 5 simply means you have played a lot of games without triggering a punishment.

Well I can tell u I have not been toxic previously and I have been positive. I even said this is the first time I did this. The fact tht I was honor 5 wasn't my only reasoning behind my answer lol

Punishment is based off of your account reported game history, not just one particular game.

If you have been escaping punishment until now, it doesn't mean your account toxic history is not high. It just mean that it is not high enough to warrant a punishment. It is possible this infraction not only pushed your account toxic meter to punishment, but also warranted an escalation due to the zero tolerance policy of Rito's. This is just an example of what could happen with your account.

Likewise, depends on the context of how other people say kys, it may or may not warrant a punishment. First off, saying kys or %%%it will not get you punished if you are not reported. Perhaps no one reported the person who said kys. No report = no IFS = no punishment. SOMEONE obviously reported you in order for you to be punished. Secondly, neither you nor I know the person's account toxic history. It could be very clean and that one infraction did not push their accounts into escalation and simply result in a chat restriction. We cannot know that so your comparison is pointless.

How are any racial slurs, homophobic or any inappropriate language a joke? What clicked in your mind that, "Oh this is a zero tolerance word, but I'm just going to say it's a joke, they're not allowed to take it seriously." I mean come on, man. The system isn't that complex. There's NEVER EVER a time when it's okay to say anything that is against the zero-tolerance policy. Never. Don't say anything that can literally be taken out of content. The lol chat isn't meant for responses like that. As for the ban, you probably used up both of your Chat Restrictions chances and you're onto your 3rd Penalty.

People need to seriously stop testing the Zero-Tolerance policy just to say the system is broken. Nothing is broken about the system, it's just people needs to stop thinking they're invulnerable to the system.

Best thing to do in this case is to put a ticket into Riot Support. They can answer it best. At least you get it's wrong, hope you get it figured out with Riot.

that is not up for your decide that up to RIOT and they believed you deserved to skip the other ones send in a support ticket but as i said .. there is a very slim chance anything will happen IMO
