It's time to stop, riot...

Hey League players! So in recent time riot is banning a lot of people for "bad behavior", "flaming" etc. And while it's seems ridiculous, in some cases, I believe, they have to do that and i fully agree. But... You know, the game must bring fun and those bans, restrictions are just really not in the right place, it's a game, you sure it's good idea? Ok, now I wanna talk about the main reason I'm writing this "essay". Today i got suspended for 14 days "because of abusive, player-reported comms." It happend randomly and i got instantly a 14-day suspension, no restrictions as it was before... OK... seems ridiculous, yes? Sure, i know that, i was just messing around, nothing more, nothing less. How can that be so offensive? I mean isin't thats funny to suspend an account for 14 days just because of some random things i wrote? I remember season 4, when Riot wasn't that big machine who's banning everyone for " bad behavior". I must act like im in church or what? Jesus Christ, literally, It's sad... Please riot, it's time to stop, im being honest.

Completely toxic , punishment more than deserved ,

You have a choice either learn to be a mature civilized positive player after this or

continuing to act the way you want to and eventually get a perma ban -- winch just based on this would be justified.

Also you fail to realize that t his game is not a right it is a privilege and if you continue to act like this you simple don't deserve that privilege and it should be taken away.,

Yea sure... Why should i be mature while playing the game? Isint its supposed to be fun? Maybe i express that way. Also, if , for example, an autistic kid expresses himself in extraordinary way by writing non sense in the chat, he should be banned?

As stated before you do not have the "right" to be here You have the privilege. You are a guest and if you idea of "having fun" is contrary to that of Riot for any reason they will and do have every right to insist you leave.

While in this game you are REQUIRED to act in a way they permit you to act not the way you want to act.

You do not have the choice to act the way you feel like acting. You don't agree with that don't play their game.

well ...

you only got 14-day ban cos you had a 25 game chat restriction before. It's not like they changed anything, it's more like all those previous games of your mild-moderate toxicity accumulated and it just happened to go over the threshold and thus you are punished now.

Keep in mind that your account is now on thin ice and you can get permabanned very easily.

Contact https://support.riotgames.com and ask them to investigate how you jumped to a 14-day ban.

There was nothing mild about the toxicity in that log. It was ENDLESS negativity and flaming of the other players. He typed more negativity in one game than I have typed in six years combined. Sure, the language wasn't horrible, but if that's what people consider "fun", this game is better off without them anyway. Logs like that are exactly why I just /mute all in every game these days. I don't care who it's directed at. The "fun" that toxic players love to have in the chat is something I just don't need to be subjected to seeing. It's irritating to watch people flame each other while I'm just trying to relax and enjoy a game. But that's just my opinion. Take it for what it is.

oh it's ENDLESS now is it. asking the yi to come join the fight. not flaming the wukong for failing ganks though doing the next best thing. and then that's it, I can't read the rest it's in some brazillian code I never learned to decipher.

Ya basically in the current state of the system, you are not suppose to talk. I dont think banning players from a game was every suppose to be a big enough deal that it should be automated, I've never heard of anyone else doing it before, and I dont understand why anyone at riot considered it okay to do here. Computers dont understand context, and what alot of people consider having fun in a game, others consider toxic. And a line has to be drawn somewhere, this zero tolerance crap is a meme. In my games right now I basically just mute anyone who says anything, not because it tilts me, its just I know there's no way I can respond to alot of people in a way that couldnt potentially get me in trouble as well.

One can talk just fine and not get in trouble.

Let's look at Rocket League that seems to have taken a page from Riot's books. Psyonix, Rocket League, has decided to implement their own language ban system. Here is a quote from the developer, “Of the thousands of reports we receive every day, the majority are tied to in-game abuse and harassment — typically in the form of abusive language,” wrote the developer.

Now Riot's system is flawed, of course. However, context really only matters if you are repeating someone using zero tolerance; mind you, you shouldn't repeat it. They will sometimes reduce those cases to the next step you were at, like a 10 game chat restrict.

I wouldn't say zero tolerance is a Meme, it has been around for ages with multiple games. Hell, I've been banned from xbox before because I upset someone playing CoD and had for my motto, "I'm the mother effin Bear Jew!". Despite the fact the guy who reported said some choice words in German. Zero tolerance usually deals with Racism and encouraging self harm, which doesn't belong in any game unless specified otherwise.

If you want to huck it up with a buddy and say toxic things, do it with whisper so others don't have to deal with it or get in comms.
