Increasing the severity of punishments from Ranked Games.

So I was just playing a game, and as I get into it my top laner says "end before 30 minutes please have to go soon." The game was going extremely well, we had just taken an inhibitor going to rotate to Baron when sure enough 30 minutes rolls around and without hesitation he afks from the game. Long story short, we weren't ahead enough to 4v5 and ended losing the game, my duo partner losing a game in his promos. Obviously we reported him afterwards but then I thought, " realy hope his punishment isnt just like a 1 day ban" mostly just because it was a ranked game. If it was normals I wouldn't care that much maybe a little salty but nothing too bad. So I was wondering if the Riot would ever consider increasing the severity of punishments given in Ranked games? Now I dont mean like a 2 week ban for 1 afk, but maybe no ranked games for 2/3 days as a first offense. Just my salty self sharing his thoughts, if anyone has something else they would like to add or counter please leave me a message and I will try my best to respond.
