Can we make punishment more severe?

I like this game, i really do but over and over i'm put with teammate that are just out to ruin the game for everyone else. This last game my lucian sat afk on spawn, buying daggers with the passive gold he earned. "Fine, ok..one troll. We can still do this" i thought... The whole team literally just turns into a flame fest, feeding, complaining and just overwhelming negativity. This is a regular issue as well as racism. You guys are fast to respond any time there is racism involved which is great and i wanted to give props where its due. As a whole though, the game is mostly a negative experience. Can we please do more to discourage the behavior? like crap talking is fine but the rest is just childish.

I know i can't be the only one who thinks people need to be punished more often or even banned permanently.

I think they could definitely do better with how they treat intentional AFK's (atm it's just Leaver penalties), but trolling can be pretty hard to catch! I know the system falls embarrassingly short sometimes, but most trolling is pretty subtle and hard for even a manual review to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the actions were intentionally harmful to the team. The punishments are severe (14 day ban then permaban), the detection just isn't up to snuff sometimes, and we can all agree that they should be working hard to improve on that (I believe that is something they have people working on constantly).

It's definitely going to feel shitty sometimes, but most players really just want to play the game and enjoy it just like you. I hope the bad apples doing ruin the game for you and you can keep going on and playing the game around them to enjoy it. Make sure you report these people at the end of the game to help Riot track and punish the behavior, and also get information for improving their systems.

Ive received a 2 week ban in autumn 2017 for being toxic. I deserved the ban, altough I didn't say/do anything as atrocious as some other people.

I have been working on trying to be a better player by being more positive, helpful and focusing on myself rather than on others. I'm currently only honor level 1 3/3 after multiple months of grinding. I think most people who received a ban actually try to improve on their attitude, and making the bans (even more) severe would probably more discourage these players than anything else.

But here's the thing: a lot of people who deserve the punishments don't get them so you'd just be giving worse punishments to people who don't deserve it.

No, more punishment is not going to fix anything, it will just make the game suck more than it already does. If you believe more punishments will make everything better, then please provide me with any evidence in games where this has happened at all. Thanks guy.

You are the person ruining the game for everyone else.
