RIOT SUPPORT DOES NOTHING ABOUT TOXIC/INFLAMMATORY NAMES

I recently reported someone's name both in-game and via the Riot Support system. I did NOT receive an in-game notification however did receive a crappy automated message response from the support ticket.

The persons name (I am not going to list the exact name as that's against ToS) has the expression "Kill yourself please" in it. Is it my misunderstanding of Riot Games that they do NOT actually punish these players by at the BARE minimum, forcing them to change their name? I reported this over a week ago and the same person is still playing with the name.

Mental Health issues and suicide in general is a serious issue in today's society and I cannot by any measure understand why this persons name has not again, at the very least been forced to change. I really have no logical way to wrap my head around this outcome.

It truly saddens me that you can get instant punishment (and rightly so) for typing "kys" or "Kill yourself" in any way, shape or form in game and get instant punishment, but having a summoner name that contains the same words illicits no punishment at all?

I used to play this game a lot but it has seriously gone downhill in terms of quality and support since season 5 (which iirc is around the same time Tencent bought out Riot)

Absolutely sickening and disgusting.

As far as I'm aware, Summoner name reports are handled manually and it works similarly to every other name-check service. It usually takes a certain amount of reports for a name to be triggered for manual review by a Rioter. This is to prevent griefing or false flagging.

Give it time and don't dwell on it too much. I know it's a serious topic and it sucks that the person is getting away with it (for now) but it's temporary, they'll receive a forced name change eventually.

(I'm speaking from experience and what I've read. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this is how the system works regarding name changes.)

If you want to try to streamline the process, file another support ticket or use the live chat function on the support website.

Absolutely sickening and disgusting.

Why are you taking this on as a crusade? It's commendable that you're supporting mental health awareness, but you're pinning this entire serious issue on Riot when that's not warranted.

When something like this gets reported, it doesn't get fixed immediately, and you're not going to be notified due to privacy reasons about anything that has to do with someone else's account.

You did your part. Move on.

My friend had to change his name cuz he put something that riot decided 3 months after that it was inappropriate. So im gonna go on the assumption that since he changed his name its ok for me to use it here (nigerianqweefbag), we found it funny, but im not saying that names that promote suicide is funny. Something i saw in a ranked game was

INTeresting. A duo bot lane with the names:

Lynch N-word

and

N-word Lynchers

These two somehow were able to get those names, i did find it funny that they were able to get away with those names from lvl 1 to 30 and 2 seasons of ranked.

I have personally contacted support about several inappropriate names I have seen on the boards, all have been forcibly changed. While I cannot comment on your specific situation, I can certainly say that they do take action, even if you receive an automated/generic message back.
