Why can i get banned from a game i put money into because i hurt someones feelings

Gninja11·9/26/2017, 10:53:11 PM·5 votes·1,533 views

They can just mute me if they really dont want to read it i mean i fucking payed money and they are taking that away because of some fucking thin skinned losers feelings? are you shitting me. Someone so stupid they cant find the mute button is more important than my money? fuck off with that. I got permanently banned for something that is actively avoidable by just clicking one fucking button. Riot games are you even real or is this an elaborate prank, because no one is this fucking stupid, let alone a whole company being so stupid they think this is a good idea.

Because it's against Riot's ToS....

You know that little contract thing you agreed to before you started playing?

Oh and before you try the whole "i spent money" card, try reading further into the ToS and that'll answer your question about that too.

The same reason you can get kicked out of Wal-Mart for doing something against the rules. Just because you spent money there doesn't expempt you from the rules.

ModPrandine9/27/2017, 4:17:36 AM5 votes

To address your main points:

  1. Spending money does not exempt you magically from the rules. Everyone is treated equally regardless of money spent, and if you're unwilling and/or unable to follow the rules and interact with others in a mature and respectful manner then Riot and the LoL community don't want you here.
  2. The mute button =/= a get out of jail free card. It is there to help prevent further toxicity, not condone it or give you an excuse to behave like a jerk.
  3. If the people getting permabanned truly valued their account then they should have thought of that before reaching that point. To quote Kei143:

When Riot permabans someone, their philosophy is "the chances of this guy reforming isn't a whole lot, we'd rather not have him in the game". Thus in their eyes, they have already written off the toxic player as a paying client.

From a business standpoint, do they want to remove the toxic guy who has spent $500 but is causing a negative environment for 4-9 other players in every game? Those non-toxics are also spending $500 and probably will spend more, promote the game more when they are enjoying the game AND they won't cause a negative environment.

I personally think it is a fine argument to protect the ones that are paying money and aren't toxic rather than protecting the ones that may pay the same amount but are toxic.

The bottom line is that this is is not a matter of being a snitch or thin-skinned, it's a matter of not wanting players who only want to cause trouble for others in the game. If you can't or won't interact with others in a mature and respectful manner then multiplayer online games are just not for you.

P.S. Maybe the ones who need to man up are the ones who think that it's okay to ruin things for everyone else and not be held accountable for doing so.

Yeah, you did. All you had to do was not click the enter key and none of this would have happened.

The mute button is there so people who are in a game with you don't have to read your flame. The ban system is there so people in the future won't have to read your flame.

And it does not matter what you think about how Riot handles bans, flame and "thin skinned losers". Fact is that you agreed to the ToS which state that you will get banned for harassing other players. You broke the rules -> you get punished. Pretty easy to understand, isn't it?

You're assuming that your status in the game is immune to any disciplinary actions because the other player(s) did not mute you? By all means, I'm glad you were banned. The mute button is for people who do not mechanically, feel like observing your BS. They shouldn't even have to use the button, to begin with, being as how you're actively, and admitting, flaming people in an incredible toxic manner, which is against not only the ToS, but the purpose of the game in general.

If you want to flame at players who you deem to below your godly Challenger Level skill set, Call of Duty is always open for business. League of Legends is for the team and for those who are here for sport, not ammunition for your rage fests.

The fact that you're so oblivious to this punishment being possible is itself speaking volumes to your outlook on the game. Someone dies and I'm sure you're always the first one to tell them how f*cking stupid they are, and why their mother bothered having them or some other non sense.

Find another game that's willing to take your money and turn a blind eye.

OR.....and this will never happen....stop being toxic and start over, you know, as a normal, not asshat player.

A, you had a 14 day ban and you were warned you'd get banned.

  1. it's not that you are offending people, it's that you are annoying and people don't want to play with you.

You didn't pay to play league, league is free. You payed for cosmetic items, which you own or should I say owned. You're ruining the game for other people who also have put money into the game, but you're the only one allowed to get special treatment, am I right? You most likely had a two week ban and shrugged it off, but now next time you'll take it a little more seriously.

Riot wants the image of a bullying-free game. They'd rather have that than your $30

Your money is jack shit. It's a colorful piece of paper. Probably, the best use for it is wiping your ass. And I don't mean this in a rude way

Stars Shaper9/27/2017, 7:56:02 AM1 votes
  1. Putting money into X doesn't give you any more rights (except when it explicitly says so, aka companies and other things).
  2. The ppl you hurt migh aswell have put money in it too.
  3. The values you expose here make the ban even more rightful since you might learn something from it.
Nik Nikerson9/27/2017, 7:02:42 AM1 votes

Because other people put money into the game, toxic players drive other players, and the combined potential income of everyone that doesn't play league because they don't want to get bitched at/called names/harassed vastly outnumbers whatever you're going to spend.

Verbally Abusing9/27/2017, 4:12:43 AM1 votes

Riot made League of Legends to be a fun and safe environment for players to enjoy the game. It's not their fault you spend money in it and then broke the terms of use.
