Sincere input from a banned player
Hello,
My account recently got banned. I'm not here to dispute or discuss bans, just to hopefully provide some input that may help current and future players.
To keep it short, here are some thoughts I had:
In the end, no-one wants to be banned, so maybe just some ideas to consider:
-
Create a feature to allow a player to restrict himself to x number of games a day. This would be controlled and freely changed by the player, but it help to stop people from playing too much and not even realizing their own frustration (I think many people can relate to this)
-
Create a feature to allow players to voluntarily mute themselves (choose to not allow yourself to send messages) A lot of times people feel the need to defend themselves and it can be hard to play with out communication, but if you can read what the team is saying and force yourself to ignore anyone taunting or trolling, it could help mitigate frustrations from escalating

It would be nice to be able to see what your current status is within the honor and penalty system. If people could see how good or bad they are doing and how close they are to punishments, it could really shed a light on the behavior to see the numbers. I understand that its not riot's job to stop people from being butt heads, but it could be helpful to put a mirror in front of them, so to speak - to allow them to see the numbers or metrics and adjust behaviors accordingly. Knowing where you stand in the honor system could encourage you to achieve more rewards or knowing which stage of punishment you're at or how often you're reported could change your behavior too if you could see it on a regular basis. It could also help them to understand what the correct norm is for a game.
Thanks!
