Restricted from loot after 1 late connect?

I was playing my second promo game. I was waiting for the game to load and after quite a while I realized that my game chrashed. I couldn't close league so I wasn't able to reconnect through the client. After I rebooted my PC and I reconnected I saw that i was 12 seconds too late. The in-game time was 3:12 and the game was remade. So I failed my promotion, I can understand that, with the new feature and all. But I also saw I wouldn't be able to recieve loot. What does this mean and why does this happen after just 1 game?
