I don't know if it is the right place to ask this. The topics on this are quite old. So how is the ban for question mark ping spam? Do they get banned? Chat restricted? Or they don´t get banned? Some Topics say that they don´t get registered so they can´t be bannable... I know I can mute pings nowadays, was this the solution for the problem???

Yeah why to mute pings when wee can ban player. It is probably to hard for you to press that mute button, so riot need to ban person who pings. Rito please help this man
A lot if things are tracked in games. Pings are definitely tracked, as they even have chat notifications that pop up. As for bans, you'll never know if your report resulted in punishment, unless it's one of the last ones to result in a punishment. I know I've received my share of "your report has helped in punishing a dishonorable person" screens after games where it was only ping spam harassment.
And mute pings is pretty much an immediate solution so you don't get annoyed, where as the reports work towards long term solutions (reformation or punishment.)
