im in a situation, lv5 honored, never got suspension/ban ever in my 3 years of this game, this is my frist punishment ever, in a flex ranked game 3 players started to turn on me for no reason that i can understand, out of nowhere ezreal (OutSideLimits) starts to flame me in chat, caps and everything, at frist i ignore him like i always do in these cases, no point in giving attention to anopropriate behaviour right? , but then the guy starts to pull attention from the team to flame me "garen wants to lose" and such on and on, even though im pushing, roaming, helping, wining team fights, pinging for awereness, easy game easy life, whent 8-2-11 garen, at the end i was having fun laughing at what the guy was saying, so i joked "kys" after he said 3 funny lines, in an attempt to lighten up the mood (KYS - Stands for "Kill your self" a sarcastic term used amongst friends basically telling one another to shut the f**k up, when someone says something ignorant), in the end ppl were saying dumb stuff in chat, so i got into the fun cuz why not and said "idiots", for this i got reported and banned for 14days with reward restrictions, this so unfair more than 100euros invested in this acct more than a 1000 ranked games played, i play by the book all the time, i report any bad behaviour i see unfair to me and others, i filed a ticket to review my punishment, but i know nothing is going to happen.... do you guys think its fair? not even a warning? 1st time offence, even if its not justified? so disapointed in riot right now.... not one more cent

  2. Even if you were joking, suicide is not a joke and telling someone to commit suicide over a videogame is not tolerated by Riot.

It is against the law (rules) to use/be in possession of "hard drugs"

Laws help lower crime, but not without active forms of prohibition.

The more blocks you put up, the harder it is to detect behavior, and the harder it is to confirm it. More blocks results in less bad people getting punished, and more good people getting punished.

Bullshit.

If customs could click a few buttons and block incoming drugs they would. If police could click a button and stop all rape, they would.

If Riot actually gave a damn about the overly sensitive people who follow through the "kys" remark, they would block it.

It's harder to detect and confirm, because it is harder to be insulting with. The more cryptic and creative the insult is, the less serious and hurtful it is.

Exactly. Because all Riot gives a fuck about is punishing players, not reducing the hurt.

People who are permanently banned rarely quit. People quit the game when they want to, not because they are told to. For some, the permaban is the final straw, but most cases it's not.

The toxic player remakes the account, for free. Toxic players are usually competitive and care about ranked, and toxic players are also impatient. This means toxic players are likely to buy XP boosts. Alternatively they buy an account from ebay, but that account won't have the desired skins/champs, so they buy Riot points.

Reforming players doesn't make Riot any money, so there isn't a DIRECT incentive for them to actively try and reform people.

The indirect incentive for them to reform people is that there are some people who don't play league because of toxicity, however Riot giving off the illusion that they are winning the "War on Toxicity" by mass banning will give the Sensitive Sally I mentioned above the confidence to play.

i dont mean to start a debate on the subject, i totaly agree that its wrong for ppl to kill them selfs, and to encorage that is wrong, i will definitely not do it again in any way, however it is a internet term for something that is not for them to literally kill them selfs but to shut up, just saying, the meaning is different, and its an abbreviation, it could mean kiss your sister for all you ppl know, you would ban ppl for abbreviations now? i just explained the true reason behind it cuz im being honest (in the internet, ikr), but i could be danish and it means KISS, so i deserve a ban because im saying KISS in danish to ppl? this is not right, sort your system out

They don't ban people for saying kys in Danish. You weren't speaking in Danish to your teammates.

Further, the meaning is not different. Just how the "n word" has a widely accepted racist meaning. You can't go around on the internet expecting everyone to have your minority meaning of the words.

The intention is what should matter when it comes to bans.

Exactly why an auto-detecting robot is ineffective.

Context matters to an extent. If you say kys in an entire game of speaking Danish, you won't be punished.

If you flame someone in retaliation, you will. You're subjecting your team to flaming or harassment for no reason.

If it is a serious enough offence for someone who is honor rank 5 with no priors to instantly get the most severe punishment available, then perhaps it is serious enough to be censored.

Welcome to the new autoban bot rito game, if you sneeze and 2 of your teammates don't like it you will get a ban strike against you, after you get 3 kiss your account goodbye, don't bother complaining about it or telling people about it being neither rito nor the community give a shit about it. The ones of us that do care have voiced our opinion about it, and rito will keep banning everyone because it makes them more money. So the simple solution is never spend any money on this company.

Dude the same thing happened to me without any warning 14 days suspend and all because i said to the jg that tower dived at level 3 full HP bot and died he said omg bot you suck you dont help me etc 'i healed btw -_-' and i said kys in the same meaning as you did and the i finish the game go to my login screen and banned for 14 days with no warning. I dont say that i souldnt get punished but i say that i sould get fairly punished because baning someone with no warning isnt making things better he is just gonna rage more because of the poor banning system that does not care about the players history and stuff my point to Riot games is make you punish syster fair for the love of god and plz switch dont take away switch my 14 days suspend with a chat ban no problem with that
