Voice vs. Chat

What I've found interesting whenever I play league. The games in which someone offers up using voice chat, are the least toxic, and most enjoyable games I've played, win or loss. People seem to be much more mellow and forgiving when actually talking to one another. It is really easy for things to be misconstrued in chat. I've actually had people get angry at me for complimenting something they did. Likewise situations in which I'd be upset with someone was quickly dissolved because I was talking to them.

about 6 months ago I was in a voice chat with 4/5 of my team mates. One of whom was obviously a really really young kid. He did something super bone-headed that resulted in us getting aced. Everyone was silent on the call for a second, and I thought to myself "damn...whats going to happen now?"... We all started laughing and joking with him. The little kid even said 'sorry guys, i messed up' afterwards. If we were in chat instead of voice, that kid would have probably been bitched out hard because not being able to put a voice to the summoner makes it easy to forget they are a person.

Honestly I wish riot would remove the chat after minions spawn, would it hurt some peoples communication? Maybe. I just don't often see people using it to communicate, the ping system seems to take care of a large majority of the things I'd want to say tactically or strategically. Add in game voice support if the communication is league is that important.

Riot is one upping your request by removing the neanderthals who can't use chat to offer anything positive whatsoever. Permanently.
