The toxicity of this community astounds me.

5 games tonight. All 5 I was flamed and screamed at for minuscule things. 2 ranked, 3 norms. I love this game, and I really love the art, design and lore behind all these characters. But this community really makes it hard to be proud to call myself a League player.

This is probably falling on deaf ears. Not sure if Riot needs to change the way their tribunal works or what have you. I’m not even sure if this is anyone’s fault.

But please guys, if it doesn’t contribute to the game and you wouldn’t want to hear it said to you; don’t type it. Mute others, don’t engage. Let’s try and clean up our acts. I’ve been guilty of saying hurtful things too, but we all live and learn.

Let’s grow. Together.

You are not alone.

Been playing since 2009. People are definitely more toxic. Conversely, I think Riot is aware and have become more harsh with the punishments -- I barely chat at all anymore after I nearly lost this account all the way up to a 2 week suspension due to losing my cool in games with people trolling and baiting me into stupid arguments.

I don't know if the world is changing or what -- but yeah, things are a lot worse than they used to be.

Peace man. Be good.

Tribunal and punishment at this points solve nothing. I can tell you from experience riot enforces bans on toxicity quite promptly. The problem is bans do nothing because people are toxic because of frustration. The game in it's current state is incredibly frustrating. This can make even the calmer persons turn into toxic maniacs.

I have a friend, he's probably the calmest person you'll ever meet. Never heard him curse in real life. Trolls, unbalanced matchmaking, noobs that don't listen when you try to babysit them and one game after those bad games, and not even a horrible game compared to others, just a jungler that ignored his calls of help and goes counter jungling instead and die. He snapped hard.

He was so tilted he fed hard and started cursing the jungler. It was bottled up frustration.

The biggest issue with doing something about this is if riot should take things into context or not. If someone is flaming and threating you and you say something back that is a little toxic should you still be punished the same way as the person who was flaming all game. We as a community need to all agree on weather or not context is important in these cases before riot can do anything.
