Riot just banned me fora false ban

These were my coms. Keep in mind I only said two means things to this Bard and the rest of it im talking about another player on the enemy team in my teams coms not all chat. I first say "You cant kill her top?" At this point im 3/1 against a taliyah top. Bard and the adc go up there to cover while I roam mid. She ends up killing both of them. So I get a little mad. Then Bard begins to flame me and I try to stay calm, but ther he starts telling the other team I'm flaming him and the adc which im not. So I tell him to stfu out of anger from this. From here Im still trying to stay calm and not curse back at the Bard who at this point is calling me racial slurrs, curses, etc. I mute him twords the end of the game so I dont know what he says after the last com. Im assuming more lies about our teams coms. I log off for about 3 hours and then come back to a perma ban. This is my first warning in 2 years. This is due to a long break I took form the game after my first year of playing. I will admit that i got up to the second chat ban in that first due to me being immature and easilt angered. But it never went past that. And now after Ive spent almost $1000 and 1000 hours on this game im perma banned. Thanks Riot. And the msot ironic part is that they say at the end of the ban message that all summoners deserve respect on Rift. Where's my respect? Also they dont show me what Bard was saying or any of the other players in the game, which is very frustrating due to the point im trying to make. I know he was qued with at least two other people on our team so he had numbers on me. which is incredibly unfair. I just want my account back. i'll take a 14 day ban, I just think this system is silly. Please help :) (Btw im playing Jayce top)

The logs you've provided are marginal. I'd be surprised to see them, alone, trigger a punishment. There's also certainly nothing to indicate that your punishment tier would be escalated, so if you've played an appreciable number of games since your last warning, that's surprising to me.

However, since I've literally never seen a mistaken behavioral ban before, I'm forced to conclude not that some injustice has been done here, but that you're misleading us in some way. Either there are other game logs you've omitted, or you've edited these logs. Sorry, but it wouldn't be the first time somebody has done that.

Edit: But I'm feeling charitable, so here's an upvote in the hopes that a Rioter will weigh in on what's going on here.

why do you as a player think that you for some reason have never been toxic to any one on a video game ever or have fed, or afkd? why becuase no one likes to lose so i can careless what someone says to me over the internet while in a game? why do you care about what someone says to you?

Because I'm in the game to enjoy the game. That's the primary purpose of most video games; enjoyment. And while it's true that losing a game is less enjoyable than winning, having some asshole in my game is also unenjoyable.

It also happens to be completely within the power of the person being an asshole to not be an asshole. People are trying to win but have poor skill in the game can't just snap their fingers and play better. If they could do that they would already have done so.

I can easily say without a doubt that I have never intentionally fed or afk'ed.

I know that have spouted a few rude comments here and there, but it obviously has not been enough to land me in any hot water since I have yet to receive even a chat restriction.

When I report someone for poor behavior, I acknowledge that the report might result in no punishment because their poor behavior was some combination of it being extremely uncommon for them or the poor behavior was not severe enough.

I do not report someone expecting to make my games better, since I'm unlikely to ever meet that specific player again. I report to help keep their poor behavior out of other people's games, and hope that other players strive to do the same.

The sad thing is, there really are people out there that believe the things he's spouting.

I use troll as a term to describe someone who doesn't believe what they preach and only says the illogical things to annoy other people.

Not someone who is so self-deluded that they refuse to see truth even when it's slapped in their face.

Everything you say has consequences. Being anonymous isn't your right. It's a privilege. If you have it, you don't have to be a total dick to everyone you talk to online. Your punishment to abusing the anonymity is simply your removal from the environment you're polluting.

In this case, if players speak up (through reporting) that your attitude is always bringing negative experience and no one has fun playing with you on their team, Riot will do something about that.

I've never been toxic or AFK. in any game. I've never thrown a shit-fit and caused my teammates to lose something, because they've offended me or trash-talked me in any way.

I've always returned shots at them if they were taking a poke at my gameplay but more recently, i've been doing less and less of that by simply muting people and not talking to them. Keeps me from tilting and antagonizing them further. That mostly prevents situations where the asshole spends their time trash talking me more and not playing the game. If i ignore them by removing their chat, i kill two birds with one stone. Both of us can focus on playing the game.

A point - there is a lone line at the end that is just his name. As, to my knowledge, there is no instance where the client allows a blank message to be sent, nor any way to input special characters that would appear to be blank without hacking, there is no way for the chat log to show a blank message legitimately.

Thus, either the last message of the first game was edited out (perhaps accidentally), or more likely, the second and third games were removed from the copy/paste, and inadvertently the OP edited out the last message of his first game as well.

Injustice? Its just a trash automated system in place that just checks what you write , not the actual, full chat. A guy got banned for even self insulting like : " fuck me, i fucked up this time" , or " oh shit, i fucked up my ult im so dumb". He got perma banned for that lol. This company is a shame, shame for ever existing today

Personally i just /mute all , to avoid this bullshit.

So this is all rather rude. It's not more than a warning for a chat restriction, but, if you're already had punishments, there's going to be an issue here.

It appears that you were insulting other players and generally making a somewhat negative environment. This would normally be a chat restriction (or a black mark on your accounts towards a chat restriction). Are you POSITIVE this is your only warning in two years of actively playing games, and that this was the ONLY game in your chat log?

Yes ever since my return from the break I haven't been reported as far as I know but no warnings. And yes those things are rude but the first two are directed at another player on the enemy team and that's not in all chat.

I'd definitely send in a ticket to Player Support if you believe the system is in error. They'll help you figure out what's up pretty quickly.

Note, however, that being rude to players isn't permitted, even if they're NOT on your team. Sure, you're much less likely to get reported for it (your team might not care) but if they DO care it's actually still punishable.

That's not really the same. The OP's issue is asking if a ban is an error, and they will certainly let him know if information is missing or if there is anything he can do. In your case you were trying to use an excuse for your in-game behavior. Riot's policy is that there is no excuse good enough to justify insulting or abusing another player.

I am sure that they care, and that they would encourage you to seek help elsewhere if they knew the details of your situation. Unfortunately, it is not acceptable to play the game and behave toxically towards other people.

sure thing there guy. every ban can be a error becuase riot can careless. it is the same there is no grey area here. trust me riot doesnt care ive written them and all they said was to bad. what if i became so depressed due to my mental issue that i have and i killed myself what would riots "excuse" be? They couldve helped they chose not to im sure the media would love that

There are many places where you can get help with mental health issues. There are also many places where it is not the responsibility of a company to give special treatment to someone with them.

If you pick a fight at a movie theater, you will be asked to leave, even if you have anger management issues. If you suffer from depression, that does not entitle you to free hamburgers at McDonalds. Neither the movie theater Northern McDonald's is obligated to provide you with help or with special exceptions, and, because neither is a licensed therapeutic organization, it could actually be legally problematic if they attempted to help council you.

In the same way, post-traumatic stress disorder does not give you a free pass to be rude and insulting to other players if being rude and insulting is against the rules.

I wish you luck in dealing with the issue comma but Riot is not at fault if you can about not abide by their behavioral rules, nor are they obligated to give you an exception to them when doing so comes at the expense of other players.

You're confusing discrimination with consistency. Discrimination would be if players with post-traumatic stress disorder were held to a higher behavioral standard than everyone else. Consistency is when all players, regardless of outside circumstances, are held to the same behavioral standards. If you are angry, depressed, traumatized, sad, or anything else, you are expected to behave in a manner that matches up to the community standards you agreed to abide too. Failure to do so, no matter the reason, results in punishment.

As to why people care about what others say in a game? Because it is a game often played to relax and have fun, and it is not enjoyable too many to do that in an environment where other people are abusing you or insulting you. It's not that what you say offends me, it's that it's not an experience I want to have in my leisure time.

The thing is the "negative environment" isn't being created by him. It's being made more negative by him, but it was caused by the adc and bard flaming him. The negative environment becomes more negative because the player, obviously, responded negatively to the negative environment created by the adc and support.

I have 2 explanations for why you got a permanent ban:

  1. You were worse in your other games and skipped punishment tiers;
  2. You were as negative in your other game but got out of a 14 day ban.

Yeah, what's in the client is typically more complete (sometimes the email notices won't have all the games provided in the client).

Makes me wonder if this was a ban for something else. I've seen a case or two here in the past where the chat logs don't seem to be an issue, and in reality they weren't the cause of the ban. The ban was issued for something else, but the notification incorrectly attributed it to chat behavior. (Note: it turned out it was still a valid ban, just not for the reason given in the notice).

In this game I didn't do anything but mildly flame the Bard, I don't think I was reported for inting or that sort of thing and if I was that is even more untrue than what has already happened. Plus it is labeled as a player-triggered report for extreme toxicity.

What did Riot tell you about why you were banned? Could it have been for a different reason altogether?

From my understanding, this is a permaban for verbal abuse. You were probably punished by the Instant Feedback Sytem for the "bard stfu" comment (if this is the full chat log). You were probably also warned by the Instant Feedback System during your previous punishment that your next punishment would be a permaban. For the future, if you're constantly being verbally abusive, it's going to trigger reports so I recommend that you just not argue with your teammates, communicate via pings and focus on the game.

It doesn't matter what Bard said. If he was toxic and OP reported him, then he probably got punished too. You don't get a free pass to flame someone back just because they might have flamed you first.

I never said or even implied that I was somehow better than OP in any way. I was giving him some advice because I've been there before and I know what it's like to be toxic. And speaking of toxic, you need to stop making assumptions and putting words in others' mouths like you know them or their situations without having any evidence to make those claims.
