Hello players. I have recently sent a ticket to Riot about my recent permanent ban. This post mostly aims to get your opinions on the situation. Here are the chat logs, followed by my ticket.

I am writing this request because I would simply like an employee at Riot Games to review my ban and confirm that it was justified.

I was permanently banned for using abusive language. While I fully understand that I am responsible for everything I say on my account, and I realise that I might have been slightly more negative-minded than usual in the past couple weeks, maybe due to university stress (which I know is no excuse), I really feel that my account shouldn't have been banned permanently right away, and I would much prefer if it could be reversed to a 2 week or month-long ban, or even a permanent chat ban.

I would like for someone to please take the time to read the chat conversations that triggered my ban, where you will see (I believe) that while I was clearly not the most positive person in those games, I wasn't excessively toxic or abusive to the point where I deserve a permanent ban (in my opinion).

I have spent so much time unlocking almost all the champions over 4 or 5 years, and it just saddens me to think that I would have to go through it all over again, because I really want to continue playing this game. League of Legends has been my go-to stress reliever ever since I have started playing, and I just wish I could go back and have my account again. I am a player who regularly played in local tournaments, where I could meet with new players from my area and have great discussions about the game. I truly regret that my actions have cost me such an important part of my life, and I would be forever grateful to Riot Games and its employees if I was allowed back on my account.

My name is Hana and I'm here to answer your concerns and help you in any way that I can.

Looking at your matches, I believe that your action toward others was not warranted. Some of these behaviors include berating your teammates, complaining in chat, arguing with others, providing unconstructive comments, and calling them hurtful terms. While you may have a competitive nature while playing the game, if you have nothing good or constructive to say, it is better to keep it to yourself.

It's definitely ok in our book to make calls and take charge to accomplish team goals. However, there's a big difference in doing so and bluntly expressing what you think without considering how that can affect others and the team's morale. I understand that everyone has a bad day and we all have experienced games with players that we don't agree with but in those situations, it isn't right to berate or act negatively toward them.

You were already given an opportunity in the past to reform. Everyone is expected to follow the Summoner's Code when playing League of Legends and negativity is something we take very seriously.

As you can see, yes, I was definitely on tilt. However, I don't feel that these games represent me as a player. Prior to these games, I had not played for a couple weeks due to university starting, and I came back when I had a chance to breath. I feel like I was overtaken by stress during these times and took it out on the game, which is definitely my mistake.

Also, yes, my account was suspended for 2 weeks in the past, so you could say that it wouldn't take much after that to justify a permanent ban. However, I have been playing on this account for over 5 years, and during those years, I have probably spent more time playing the game than not playing the game. I believe the system should be able to recognise a loyal player, and of course not give them a free toxicity card, but perhaps acknowledge that a quality player can go through rough times, and be more open to more specific case-by-case restrictions or suspensions. I believe everyone can change and reform, and I realise I was given that chance during my 2 week suspension, but sometimes it takes more than that. Sometimes, as humans, we only realise our mistakes after we have lost what we had, and I definitely realise my mistakes now, and I would do anything to prove that I can be a positive player again and have a positive impact on the community again.

I am just deeply saddened to see all this time going to waste. All I want is to have my champions back, as it took me those 5 whole years to unlock most of them, and I can't justify going through all of it again at this point in my life. I definitely want to continue playing the game, and I would wholeheartedly accept being permanent banned from the chat, if the community considers my behaviour to be unacceptable, but a permanent ban from the game is very heartbreaking for me.

This statement pretty much puts the whole issue to rest. You previously were guilty of unsportsmanlike conduct. You were explicitly warned in that punishment that another offense would lead to a permanent ban. You continued your unsportsmanlike conduct, and now true to their word, Riot has permanently banned your account. This should not be a surprise.

The one and only offense that deserves a perma in this game is cheating. Toxic shouldn't even be given a 2 day ban let alone a 2 week or perma.

Don't like what someone is saying and it is bothering you mute them. If you keep listening to a rager for more than the entertainment value of how far off they can get and you don't mute then it's your own fault your poor little feelings got hurt.

So no a ban of any kind is not warranted for your chat logs in my opinion(which means nothing but I am tired of the vocal ass kissers being toxic dicks to people on the boards who get chat restrictions or bans and get away with it).

Well I don't agree with permabans for toxicity, but you definitely are a negative, morale-destroying ass. If you go by their rules, yes this permaban is justified, because you probably act like that whenever you get frustrated. Nobody wants a guy on their team who's gonna insult everyone and talk about their previous win streak but now they keep getting retards. Please just shut up n play if you decide to make a new account.

Also what you say about it not defining you as a player... that's wrong. Character is how you act in tough times. When you get frustrated and throw integrity out the window, that reflects poorly on your character. I'm sure you're a nice guy when you're winning. That's not what defines a person. It's how they act in times of turmoil that you can see the real integrity of a person... which you blew big time. When things fall apart, you fall apart. That's not good character.

As to your excuses:

So? No one cares. If you are on tilt, grab a stress ball or yell at your screen. If you think your teammates are suitable targets for your frustration, you don't belong in this games community.

However, I don't feel that these games represent me as a player.

Excuse me, I just had to laugh really hard. You got 2 chat bans, a timeban and a written warning. And then chose to ignore that.

So don't even try to play the "that's not me" - card.

While I don't find your behavior acceptable at all, I do think that Riot should 'soft-reset' people's behavior punishments each season.

If a player gets suspended in one, receives no punishment in the next, the third will fully reset their behavior history. The exception being approaching the highest tier for punishment a second time.

As OP said, players do go through rough times, and make the mistake of playing this game while they're already under high stress, making them very volatile. If misbehavior isn't a chronic factor for said player, especially over a 5+ year period, I do not believe one should be perma-ban as easily as some cases.

I honestly don't know if you should get any reprieve from your punishment, OP. You were pretty needlessly harsh, even considering your tilt. That, and we don't know when or for what reason your previous punishment was.

Your last punishment already was a 2 week ban, so you had the permaban coming.

The "4 punishments to a permaban" system Riot has implemented is doing it's job well enough, and I see zero reasons as to why you specifically should be the one exception who gets a 4th chance.

hmm that is ban worthy right there.... and its in the 1st 8 statements of your chat log

and you dont get perma ban right out of the gate unless its is something really really horrible so this isnt your 1st fraction
