Riot, you need to do a recount on toxic players, because there's no way it's only 5%

For the past week, I literally have not had a single game where I didn't have to report, at the very least, 3 people in the game. Every single game I play is full of flamers and ragers, people telling everyone to kill themselves, people spamming MIA pings nonstop every time you die, people giving up and intentionally feeding, and people doing nothing but telling the enemy team where everyone is in all chat.

And every single day I log back in to league, I get the "thank you" report notifications. I have noticed that the punishment system IS indeed getting more strict, but you seriously can't try to claim that only 5% of people are toxic when 100% of my games have toxic players in them, and I'm not talking about the midly toxic or passive aggressive people, but full blown ragers.

EDIT: Here's a little snippit of the INSANE toxicity I get every game. This happened in a post-game lobby. This is just the tiny bit he said in the post game lobby, not even close to all the crap he said in game. And for the sake of not player-shaming, I replaced his Summoner Name with his Champion

Yeah, this is literally every single game for me, people like this nonstop. Also in this game there was a leaver, so that's, again, 2 reports for this game as well

EDIT 2: Literally just had the worst game that I've ever had in my entire experience of playing League of Legends, and I've been playing since season 3.

I qued in blind pick, and I called top, which of course another player started trying to say he called which he didn't, so he instalocked in Tryndamere after I locked in Kindred to go top with.

The game afterwards was complete hell. Tryndamere was intentionally letting enemies kill me while he was right next to me spamming laugh, even coaxing the enemies into killing me in all chat. Then my entire team joined in on the trolling, and was doing everything in their power to starve me of CS and XP, all the while verbally berating me, telling me to uninstall, that I was garbage, etc. After top I went to bot to try to help out the Ashe who was solo, but she started pulling the same thing tryndamere was, intentionally telling and letting the enemies kill me. After that I tried to farm some in the jungle, and that's when the enemy team joined in on the "make my game absolute hell" game everyone was playing, and dropped everything, ignored my team in their lanes, ignored cs, and just started hunting me down in the jungle. This was the worst experience I have ever had in this game, and it was all just some sick fun 9 other players were having just to torture me.

Verbal trolling is one thing, but when it goes into intentionally hampering gameplay like this, that should be a no questions asked instant ban.

5% = 1/20 = 1 in 2 games (10 ppl per game).

There are pockets where toxicity is higher:

  • Lvl 15-25
  • Low bronze
  • Low plat
  • Low diamond

A person being toxic every game sounds about right when you are in those pockets.

I noticed that almost every single game I lose there is someone calling for a report. Players literally look for someone to blame when they are losing. I died? Report so and so. I lost lane? Report that guy over there. Players literally call for reports just to blame someone. It's like players believe that every single game they lose is because one of their teammates was toxic. And it's like they are thinking, "It can't possibly be me, so it must be someone else on my team. I should tell everyone to report that mfk*r and get him banned for the good of League."

And of course, escalation of the blame game is so easy. Someone wants to report you? O, they must be toxic. "I better report that mfk*r for the good of League."

And then the really bad toxicity starts to come out and players just start to say horrible things for the sake of expressing all their pent up frustration at their "toxic" "unskilled" teammates. (I recommend mute)

Is it 5% of the players or most of the players? I think it all depends on how escalated the toxicity is. That 5% has got to be be really really bad. Like so bad that the toxicity you think is bad isn't comparable to how toxic those players are. I'm not saying this makes lower levels of negativity excusable. But even if negativity is as common as we all know it to be, RIOT can't exactly ban the entire community from the game... or can they. What exactly should RIOT do?

Again, the 5% are the players who are consistently! toxic enough to receive a punishment. That doesn't mean, that the other 95% aren't toxic from time to time ...

You sound like someone that has held in their anger issues. I also release my anger by playing league of legends, it's ok man, we are not alone.

All of the players in that Edit 2 game seriously sound like they need to be looked at because they're practically all intentionally throwing the game... for the sake of ruining your own experience and fun.

Riot seriously needs to step up their game if you're the one getting punished instead of literally ANYONE in that match.

If it makes you feel better, I am in a similar boat. I am now LITERALLY TAKING STATISTICS because I'm pretty sure their given number is either horribly outdated, complete bullcrap, or highly skewed by how many people play premades often.

Right now the number is: 32 total games. Out of those, 10 had toxic player(s) on one of the teams. That's nearly 30% and I'm not including the people who were borderline.

ever think its due to your level? ranked is less toxic than normal and normals are more toxic at lower levels more of the player base is level 30 and ranking
