Were my teammates right?

Im just a plat5 player, so im not that good and i would like to hear your opinions about this.

I was playing Teemo top vs Swain i was doing quite well and everything but my team was dying and dying and dying and guess what?and dying...Swain started getting some farm and he finally got his items i couldnt kill him but i kept him top all the time.I believe that Teemo doesnt offer that much in teamfights but Swain does, so by keeping him always top i thought that it would help my team more than being in teamfights...Of course i did help in some teamfights but my team was always dying so quickly that i couldnt do anything. In the end we lost and they blammed me for the loss, they said that i was useless all the time and etc.

Soo, were their right? Should i have done something else?If so, please tell me, i want to improve!

Sounds like you did what you thought was best, but I don't believe I'm skilled enough to tell you if that play was right. I think it is though.

"Im just a plat5 player, so im not that good"

Sorry to pick on you, but ...

....I don't know why, but this type of insincere newspeak has started to evoke a visceral reaction in me.

to truly be humble, I feel like your actions would speak louder than constant proclamations.

as for your post. You're fine. To play teemo is already a courageous act given the toxic nature of most of this community, it doesn't matter how well you play, they will blame it all on teemo.

also important thing is that you didn't respond, hopefully u didn't.

the whole evil plan is feed and lose turrets, then PING SPAM for help and grouping while enemy team splits.

You're team is always right. why? because you can blame them if they weren't

I would say from that game you linked that you certainly were not the only one that contributed to that loss. Looks to me like the rest of your team fed.
