I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like the meta is also changing the player's mentality
What I want to say is that with this current meta, where fights barely last half a minute or a minute at best (most of the time), where you can get one shotted pretty easily or get taken down in seconds while barely being able to sometimes even react, players give up soo fast, like without even thinking or realising that they still have a very good chance to actually win the game.
Lemme explain. I've been playing this game since the end of S1 / beggining of S2 and yes, I'm not the brightest player or the most skilled or something, but this is not about this. It's just that I think I have never seen a period like this, where people give up so fast before even the 10 minute mark and what I mean by this is that, if a certain lane already died like 2-3 times (especially the bot lane atm), 80% of the time, they're like "aight, x lane open" "ff 15, no chance" "ok, i'm afk, can't win this, ff" "this is lost, i troll"
Like, I swear to god, in the last 2-3 months, for real, I had so many people just straight out afk because they lost their lane and thought it was lost for good, although they could've tried to get back in the game just by being a little more careful and patient, or try to ff and sometimes if it didn't go through they would even start inting or anything close it just to force an ff or make the game end faster. Also, there were cases even when every other lane would be doing just fine or excellent, again, if one lane lost, they just afk, troll of int. feed, because in their minds, somehow, if they are not the ones doing well, then the others shouldn't be doing well or win the game.
Now, don't get me wrong, trolls/afkers, they have always been around, I'm not denying that, but not like now, I mean, even in higher leagues. Since I started playing, I was usually gold, last season got plat for the first time and this season too. Usually, when the new season began, I would usually start in low Silver, 5 or 4, and climb up from there and I must admit, people from Silver and Gold, even if sometimes their skills or playstyle wouldn't be the best, they wouldn't give up that easy, like even when they would be behind by a lot, they would still try to come back.
I mentioned earlier something about players now not having patience and I personally think this is true. A lot of people are going by this mentality, go ALL IN at the beggining of the game, doesn't matter if you'll probably die 3-4 times in a row in just 8-10 minutes, if you succed you just stomp the enemy, if not you get stomped and then "ok, this is lost, ff 15" and like I said, sometimes they just afk or start trolling to force the surrender. Even if you have a team comp that scales very nice in the late, they don't even want to wait 10 minutes where they could just farm, get 1-2 core items, try not to fight, defend and wait for the right opportunity to get back in the game.
Again, what I'm trying to point out or put it in the light, is related to the player's mentality, the way they think and play, not that X role is broken, Y champion is broken or that Z item is broken. No, there is already enough complaining going on about this aspect of the game and this is how it always has been and will be, doesn't matter what meta is going on, what will be OP or not, people will always complain about anything possible because nothing will ever be perfect, maybe good or close to perfect, but never perfect, you just can't make everyone happy.
