Decisions Riot Has Made For Me and My Account... Help and Opinions Please!

Hello League of Legends community. I've been a member of this community since June 2012! I recently had taken a break from this game from about July 2014 until about Nov. 19th. Since coming back... My main account had been compromised and I cannot find it anymore due to summoner name change. So I contacted Riot hoping to receive my account back and this is one of the responses I've gotten from them.

"I understand it is a tough pill to swallow that all this content is gone but I can not compensate you for this lost account. I'm sorry that this account has taken this course but account security is one of our biggest concerns and I know you would not like it if someone else was using all the content you purchased."

Now keep in mind I've spent over $400 easily on my account and had a skin for almost every character up to Knar. The reason I create this today is because I find it very hard to believe that this great company cannot even compensate me for anything; instead they must "delete my account for security" and because "I would not like it if someone was using all the content I purchased."

This in no way to shame Riot or anyone involved I would like to see something turn out from this instead of my items that I PAID for and that the other person PAID (if they spent anything).

PLEASE LEAVE FEEDBACK AND VOTE ON THE POLL!

**LoL quick side not my friend told me to add. I legit sold my computer to lose weight then when i met my goal i could buy a new one. Which I lost 40lbs XD **

Wasn't it registered to an specific email? I don't think you can change the email that was originally associated with it. There also facebook and youtube association to prove is yours, plus any credit card transaction? There should be logs about all that but you would have to provide some real life information.

Even if you had one shred of proof that you bought and owned everything i wouldn't stop. Kind of a weird issue i understand with online ownership being weird everywhere but im pretty sure that if you have a little bit of proof you could probably get it back. Credit card statement? Bank billing? if you spent the money i guarantee the records are there. and i mean full on small claims court, just press the issue and if you dont know to press the issue find out how ( for 400$? you got to do it). I mean if you spent the money you really should make sure that you get what you bought. Riot and a lot of other internet only corporations really benefit from the ability to not care at all, but they also dont care in the sense that if you press the issue you will probably get what you deserve just because its easier.

If your account was compromised by no fault of your own, I feel Riot is responsible for at least a portion of your loss. If, of course, you can provide some form of proof. $400 is nothing to laugh at, when you consider AAA games cost $60. If it were $50, even $100? I'd say it's unfortunate and just let it go. But a skin for every champion is a great deal of money.

If this really happened then you should threaten to kill the genius that came up with this creep block bs unless they fix it. Then kill him anyway.

As I heard Riot do paybacks for permabanned accounts, if it's true then in your case they have to give you your money back.

I d recommend to read user agreement, if there won't be anything about money, then ask support about that. If they'll say no, what is doubtfully, then write to visa or MasterCard support and ask them to return money, because they 're literally stolen

But imho there is misundertanding - they have to return your account. Name can be taken, but not things that you paid for.

Riot should be able to track your account.

Contact Riot Games via the support, give them all your information you can give about your account including your original email registered, Credit Card information, How you paid for RP etc, even with a name change riot should still be able to find your account or information even if someone got it banned forever (Riot can actually reverse a ban and fix this for you.

I agree that Riot needs to put additional security into the game for example what Valve, Blizzard, NCsoft, Guild Wars 2 have, IP verification so when a user logs into the game from a unknown IP address they have to type a 4 digit code in the box to verify it is them which is sent to the email from there they can fix it to save so they don't have to do it again, this prevents hackers from just freely hi-jacking players accounts as easily.

The biggest problem is, since account wasnt used for so long by you, who is to say that you didnt actually sell that account some time ago, and now you want to take it back. I am not saying you did it, i am only saying you COULD have done it. You cant prove that you didnt do it, and there were many cases of that happening. Person would sell account, take money and then write ticket to support to get account back. Then other person who bought account would also complain, and that would lead to alot of investigation and wasting of time. You have to understand, even though its not fair, thats how they are instructed to deal with these issues.

Something very similar to this happened to me earlier this year. If you still have the email that was originally connected to this account of yours, and you have the receipts still for the purchases you made, you can send a bunch of those to Riot as proof of purchase that the account was yours.

You can't find it? The account name does not change. If you can log into the website you'll see the summoner name (banned accounts can still use the forums). I've never heard of them "deleting" an account, as opposed to simply suspending it.

Just give up. You won't get any compensation. Cut your losses and secure your account next time.
