Before my perma ban I had been suspended for two weeks for an extremely extremely toxic game that I take full responsibility for. This had been the only punishment before the permaban and I had not recieved any warning or 'chat bans' before my perma ban and my two week suspension. The game that got me perma banned was severely less toxic, I simply said and regret saying 'kys' to a team mate 3 times because I was a little angry at losing lane to Garen. How is this fair? And can I get this perma banned removed?

The thing is I wasn't warned, and I did change my behaviour. I have chats with people I have met in game, multiple of them saying things like 'you played well' 'ty for the carry' 'that game was pretty hard hey?'. I did not recieve a warning prior to the 2 week suspension, or the perma banned. How is this remotely deserved if I have shown that I have changed my behaviour and can prove it?

That's only mildy toxic... You can see me get a bit annoyed from Yi having some lag problems and giving Garen a kill...however, I respond with 'it's okay tho'. I seriously do not think that this deserves a permanent ban?!

Many people would disagree with you on that, including Riot.

In any case, it only takes being mildly toxic to move you to the next step of punishment. The next step after a 14-day ban is a permaban. In this case, Riot would consider your toxicity to be severe, so there's no doubt about the validity of your permaban.

Then this game happens and I get permanently banned for something that isn't even that toxic. How soft can this company really be? christ.

There are two stages of chat bans, followed by a 14 day ban, then a permaban. You can skip steps if your toxicity is bad enough. You admit to being extremely toxic, which jumped you straight to a 14 day ban. After that, any reportable toxicity can finish off your account.

So even though I've seen people 10x more toxic than me not get banned just because I got a little annoyed once and had already received a 14 day suspension...I'm perma banned. I don't see how any of this is fair towards me, and if I will be allowed access back into my account I can prove myself being extremely nice to other players on the rift but nooooo 1 time and perma banned. This company tho....

DId you get permabanned for your first offense? You did not. You're not going to see them get punished unless your report just happens to be the one to trigger their punishment, and keep in mind others were probably reporting them too. You have direct evidence that toxic chat can get you banned, so don't worry, if they keep it up they'll be joining you, if they haven't been permabanned already.

You can immediately earn a 14-day ban for hate speech or encouragements to self harm (which "kys" definitely counts as), as well as for extremely toxic behavior.

Once you are at the 14-day ban level the next punishment is a permanent ban. If you return to the game and then tell other players to kill themselves shortly after a 14-day ban, you will end up permanently banned 100% of the time.

It wasn't even that shortly after the 14 day suspension and I have shown extremely nice behaviour towards others players between that period but I get a little annoyed in 1 game and I'm permanently banned?!? How is this fair towards me as a player?

How recently was it? It can take several months for an account to drop even one level, and a second "kys" punishment could probably bump it up to a permanent ban even if it had decreased two levels.

Because you were warned with your 14-day ban that the next punishment would be a permanent one, and you still told another player to kill themselves. You could easily have expressed your frustration in another, less offensive fashion, or refrained from typing it altogether.

Because everyone is held to the same standards. If ANY player told other players to kill themselves they would be facing the same punishment as you are currently. It is flatly unacceptable to tell another person that in pretty much any circumstances, let alone over the outcome of a game.

As for getting a little annoyed -- yes, everyone does. What matters is how you express that annoyance. For some people it's "dude -- can you stop typing that to me every time I die? I get it. I'm having a bad game. Please stop rubbing it in, okay?" That's fine. Others express themselves with statements like "kill yourself" or "shut the fuck up, you [insert slur of choice here]." That is NOT fine.

The choice in how to express yourself is yours, but certain behavior does have consequences.

Wait I have repeatedly seen the line 'STFU' is that on the same level as a simple 'kys' because if so then I would have reported them however, I am not that soft to recognize that as even mildly toxic and instead I just simply /mute all. How is this fair towards me if I didn't even recieve a warning before hand saying I would be permenently banned following any toxic behaviour <insert example of toxic behaviour>. I think riot needs to make clear like you have don't in your reply what is recognized as toxic and what they expect from you especially if you're on the brink of a permaban rather than simply waiting for you to make a mistake and jumping at the opportunity to ban you from playing their game permanently. That's what annoys me about this ban the most is that I was not given any forewarning at all.

No. The part of that quote that was unacceptable was the [insert slur of choice] section. Cursing is fine. Telling another player to "shut the fuck up" is toxic, yes, but not to the extent of encouraging self-harm. Telling another player to kill themselves or harm themselves is one of the things Riot has a zero tolerance policy on.

That warning was attached to the chat logs that were sent to you following your 14-day ban.

I think riot needs to make clear like you have don't in your reply what is recognized as toxic...

The reason (in my opinion -- Riot has not confirmed this one way or another) they don't do this specifically is that if they lay out EXACT rules, people will find ways to skirt them and be toxic while remaining within the rules. The general rule can be summed up as "don't be an asshole to other players," and is specifically NOT written in stone to prevent circumvention of the rules .

That's what annoys me about this ban the most is that I was not given any forewarning at all.

Your forewarning was your 14-day ban, and the warning attached to it that further violations would result in escalating punishment.

I just checked my email that my account has been attached to since day 1...I didn't receive an email for the 14 day suspension that I received or this permaban. Could I use this in defending my account since as you've said, the warning is attached to the email that I did not receive?

It would also have been on your in-client chat logs.

Ultimately, however, I doubt it would be much use in this case. Regardless of whether or not you got the warning, you agreed to abide by behavioral expectations when you signed the Riot Terms of Use. Telling another player to kill themselves is VERY clearly in violation of that.

If you want to try anyway, feel free to submit a ticket to Riot Support.

Who reads the contract anyways? The fact that I have not received an email with a warning attached like you said I should is clear that this ban is very undeserved as I did not understand their expectations of me. Had I known the expectations and when I get my account unbanned literally every game is going to be the same thing, since I am done with riots unclear and frankly rediculous ban system, /mute all.

The fact that you didn't read the large body of information available on Riot's expectations of you does not, sadly, mean the ban is unwarranted. You're welcome to try petitioning Riot Support, but the time to do that was, sadly, prior to the permanent ban. Permanent bans are usually overturned ONLY if they are applied in error, which is a rare occurrence.

Best of luck, but I would suggest that you temper your expectations accordingly.

He didnt say that stfu alone is banworty. He said that stfu you (insert racial slure) was problematic. In the mail you get for the 14 day ban or even in the reformcard popup it states that its the last punishment.

You werent asked to change your behaviour to a "less toxic" one, but to a "toxic free" one. You didnt manage to achieve it, you lose everything.

That's how it works, and it's fair since these rules apply for everyone.

Dont try to blame riot for your mistakes I spent my last 2 years without being rude to anyone in this game, and that's just because 2 years ago I received a 10 games chat restrict.

You showed clearly you couldnt reform. Riot is telling you to gtfo of this game, they dont want you anymore as a customer.

Riot didn't inform me before I made this post about any part of the ban system, the people here have just informed me how it works. I think riot needs to change and implement some sort of warning system before flat out banning people and needs to recognize that sometimes people like myself just get a little bit angry sometimes, and yes only sometimes.

It's explained in the ToS you accepted everytime there's a new patch. If you didnt read the contract before agreeing it's again your fault.

They actually do, unless you are just out of a 14 days ban, then it only takes one game to be banned.

It's a fair system, and most people are really happy with it, dont worry. You are still free to make another account and learn from your mistakes. But they never lift up bans for toxic behaviour when the toxic behaviour is effectively there.

Bruh. I didn't receive any emails about the 14 day suspension or for the permaban that state that 1 mess up will result in a perma ban. I didn't get warned...how was I to know this would get me permabanned? I have contacted support about the email issues and why aren't they sending me them hopefully it will get me unbanned.

Thats not mildly toxic. Thats one of cases of extreme toxicity that can even escalate you to perma ban.

I enjoy how riot gives you a 2 week suspension, after the two week suspension you're back playing the game and then they don't give any example of what they consider 'extremely toxic behaviour' or any clue on to how the ban system works and how close you are to being permanently suspended. If I knew how any of this works or what Riot as a company expected from me. I would have just /mute all every. single. game. But they don't give me any of that, they leave me in the dark. Encouraging self harm is though because you don't know the other person's mental health state at the other end of the screen. On the off chance that the other person is indeed suicidal, you shouldn't be saying that stuff. Some people use league to escape from irl problems, and you don't know what those are so putting people down, especially to the extent of validating that their life is meaningless, is extremely damaging and hurtful. So it is toxic. Very toxic.
