Adding a new "vote kick" feature in champion select phase

I think we all had some negative experience of few ranked/draft pick mode especially in low elo when someone refused to play his role (autofiiled or not) or started flaming and being toxic thereby titling the whole team before the match even started!!

SO i was thinking why Riot doesn't give us a way to punish those scums other than your typical "Report after match" or forcing yourself to dodge the queue receiving punishment instead of the toxic guy >> Queue Dodge Timer + LP loss / 1 promo match loss in ranked [sg-janna]

Do we need a method of voting and kicking a team player during the champion select phase of if enough teammates agree ? thus this player will be flagged to the punishment system and rest of the team join another queue in piece. If so how many for the vote to pass ? and how can this be abused by premades and is there a way to make it abuse-proof?

Too abusable, people will look up Players and kick those with Low winrate, offrole, loosestreak or if someone wants to play offmeta, He will have a hard time.

How many people bother to look up players in champion select anyway? I agree it will be hard to play far off-mate tho

At higher elo I would say AT LEAST 1 person on each team in every game

When I'm doing draft, if I put adc as my secondary, I'll look up my support and jungler simply because adc is my off-role. I'm not bad at it, but I'm not that great either. So I'd rather know if I can trust my support and jungler or have to focus more on protecting myself.

And honestly, I'd rather not be kicked because I got mid or adc, which are what I put as my secondary, simply because I barely play those lanes due to being a supp main.

What if there was a reason box that came with the voting tool, and only showed on the persons' screens that voted yes if the votes were accepted. They would be able to submit their reasoning before they rejoin the queue, and the system would determine if the votes were just cause. Kicking for unjust reasons will lead to an punishment equal to the AFK system. Personally, if they kick the player they don't want and it wasn't justified, I would consider it a dodge for all who voted as such. Riot would also have to make a clear ruleset on what is and isn't "kickable".

That sounds like the Vote-to-Kick feature from World of Warcraft, but the issue still stands that it would be abusable. Even in World of Warcraft, you can literally just not put a reason for kicking someone from the group, and everyone would have their own reason for kicking or not kicking a player.

Besides, how do you judge what justifies kicking someone from a match that has yet to begin? I could see if someone was threatening to troll the match, but even then, some of those people who threaten like that are just idiots with a bad sense of humor who are genuinely going to play the game straight.

Frankly, a pre-game kick feature would just harm the game overall, because of two simple reasons: One - it would be abused way too often. Two - queue times would increase dramatically.

And, despite what many people would say, nobody wants increased queue times. Period.

Many times on wow I would vote to kick people randomly for no reason and sometimes my team would hit yes without even thinking and kick people, I was playing solo and it worked, it would be a disaster on this game

You could have "Player 1" "Player 2" "Player 3" in champ select and not hide the champion portraits after they have selected them. Then its pretty easy to determine who said what.

So have the cases reviewed. If the player wasn't trolling or doing anything wrong, have the players who voted yes hit with a nice little 14 day ban for the first offense. Sure, there is grey area, but if the player wasn't toxic or didn't take someone else's role, then there really is no legit reason for them to be voted to get kicked. Problem solved.

How do you determine if he did or didnt take his role. If someone is given toplane and locks lucian but says he goes adc, is it taken as joke or not, its impossible to automate and manual review is impossible due to the amount of cases that it would create. Its just not doable in a nonabusable way.

Pretty simply, just don't say you're going ADC then. Because literally the only thing saying you're going ADC if you're not, is to try and work up your teammates. Literally nothing else.

It wouldn't create a lot of false cases once players realized they would get banned for false kicks. I'll even review them for free.

Yeah as others have said... it would be nice for ME to have, but it's too abuseable and I don't trust other players with it lol. Like, I want it, but I just don't think it's a good idea to put that in.

Actually the main concern is that people will just keep kicking out the weakest links until they got that master tier Smurf with the 100% winrate

I can just imagine the qualms people will have about playing off-meta heroes. Even in Overwatch, where pro players played off-meta heroes and let them shine to their full potential, people would just castigate, bash, throw games over teammates choosing off-meta heroes like Bastion and Widowmaker. I'm afraid to think about what'll happen if there's a votekick function in LoL.

Besides, League's main selling point is its diverse roster of playable champions. A votekick will simply just make picks even more restrictive to the current meta. It defeats the entire purpose of the game.

They do that right now in game. At least this would let people vent their spleens before being locked in for the whole half hour ride.

Let's say someone wants to play teemo support, something which isn't forbidden at all, what if his teammates kicks him everytime because they don't want a teemo support ? I mean riot is very clear on the fact that you have the right to play off meta picks and strategies..

I really think this would be abused a lot, like "oh ! we could use a better jungler than volibear looking at the enemy teamcomp, let's kick this dude !", "Top matchup is lost already let's kick this guy !", "he has a 25% WR on this champ ffs kick him !!!", ...
