Recently in all of my solo/flex games I encounter a certain type of attitude with teammates. I ask them to gank, tell them theres a ward or tell them they flash and they all respond with something along the lines of. "I will not do whatever you asked of me because you asked me to do it and I can do whatever I want." This isn't word for word of what they say but basically how it comes across.

It's like you say one bad thing or just say "we screwed that gank up" and they just blow up and it causes you to basically lose the game because they start inting, rage quit or spend the next 30 mins of the game typing an essay about how wrong you are and how right they are.

This isn't just from a single game either. This is a trend that happens a lot. Go weeks with fine games not a lot of toxicity and then you get nothing but toxicity every game and not even close games either. It's almost like im in a different queue of people.

I know the major thing people are going to say is "hey just stay positive" or "dont type anything" I've tried that, and it happens and you get people who rage for no reason.

part of that comes because people usually assume instantly that you are passive aggressive if you ask for ganks or tell them that they screwed up something, because many people in this game actually are passive aggressive when asking for something.

that means often people interpret something like "gank plz" into something like "gank me ffs or I report you".

and then there are the tiltlords that just were already tilted going into the game and are just mad about anything that doesn't go their way.

I understand that and Im willing to change my approach how to ask someone to gank or something.

The biggest problem with this that I have seen is I could create statistical data of trends of games where it is just unbearably toxic for everyone in the game. It's like you get into the queue with all the people who have flags on there accounts.

Some months I love league and then other months I cant stand it because of these trends. Its to big of a coincidence

well there are many people who are just trying to tilt their whole team for no reason. these people you can't calm down.

and then there are the people who react to it and start playing worse because they got successfully tilted. usually just writing something like "chill guys" helps to at least get some people of the team to calm down.

so many games get just lost because you have one guy in your team who successfully tilts the whole other team. just trying to calm down the other players usually works best when you try to win.

I see that very often. The funny part is, all of this happens at daytime. Nights are much more relaxed, so i asume that you basicly ARE talking to teenagers.

Mr "16 and perfect" knows better, whatever you say, thats just a fact of life.

I mean, they literally are, teens have less developed brains until their early 20s and have less stable and competent decision making skills and risk calculation.

No they're depressed because they're living in an age with increased mental instability in an education system built to supply workers for a dying industrial world that doesn't value their obvious potential to shape and succeed in the newly technocratic world. Being treated like idiots happens everywhere to everyone because humans are idiots, you have no idea what you're talking about.

I don't think me making a generalized statement about the attitude of people over an online video game relates to why teen suicide rates are high. I also never said that they were idiots or anything relating to that. 13 or 14 is the age kids/people just kind of have an attitude for no reason. I know I went through it, certainly didn't make me wanna commit suicide when someone told me I was hard to work with.

Teen suicide rates are most affected by some sort of bullying or parent neglect. If I was a parent to a child who committed suicide I would blame myself for not noticing the signs and taking the correct actions to help my child.

Calling them idiots (which I never did) will not inflate the rates of suicide. If it does it is very small compared to the other factors causing it.

By creating this post I did not contribute to an influx of teen suicides.
