AFK

Let's talk about why League automatically reports you for AFK but isn't nearly as stringent about other behaviours... I sometimes get cut off from my Internet due to bad service and an occasional ping of over 300!! Yet I get reported immediately and have ridiculous 20 minute waiting periods to play again. I never report AFK anymore due to such ridiculous standards. But when I report someone for badmouthing everyone on the team or bots on my team in bot matches they never get reported... Let's face it, it's much more annoying to be playing with a bot on your team who commits suicide every single minute (I've had as many as 3!!) than one player who's AFK and we don't know what happened with their side of things.

I think League needs to be much more stringent on bot programs and only stringent on AFK behaviours in rated games - bots and unranked are much less important.

Thoughts anyone?

If you're ping is so high and internet is so bad to the point where you keep getting 20 min que times then you have a problem you're aware of and need to deal with it. 20 min que times means you've not only been afk but have been afk frequently in a small period of time. You're wasting your teams time and efforts when you're afk, and it's even worse when you know you have a problem. Bots usually are banned after they're level 30 so it discourages people from buying them.

Largely because AFKing is super easy to detect (Did you lose connection for an extended period of time? If yes, then you're AFK), while other behaviors are harder to confirm.

Confirming that someone is intentionally feeding or using a bot is a more involved process -- they're actually MORE stringent (those can lead to losing your account rather than just a time penalty), but the offense is harder to detect.

People get banned for toxicity and bots get tracked so Riot can shut down entire sites, instead of one bot at a time. Your AFKs result in 20 minute waits. Bans result in weeks long waits and sometimes permanent waits. Also, the system detects those AFKs. Its not people reporting you, its automatic. Unfortunately, it's harder to detect bots with an automated system.
