AFK Replacement System/Honor Revival-RIOT PLEASE READ

League of Legend is limited because as a consumer I need to set aside a potential 60 minutes of my time for a game that could last as little as 15 minutes.

This is because of how drastic going AFK does to a game, and the leaverbuster consequences that come from that. But what if, just like COD, that AFK person could be replaced.

What I'm suggesting is a where players can queue to join games mid-game in order to maintain a fair 5v5 play.

The way to do this would be lock people out until they have an S7 champion. From there they could replace champions that they had earned an S7 on. Ergo, an S7 Teemo could replace another Teemo player across the summoner planes. Players with multiple S7 champions could replace multiple champions. Players who enact in this queue could receive additional rewards as form an increase of honor and loot boxes. This would enable dishonorable players a more expedient way to get back to normal honor levels. This would also allow charitable players to give their effort to players who could most use a helping hand.

Pros:

  1. No longer armagaden if you quit midgame. Makes the game more accessible to all lifestyles.
  2. Boosted Honor rewards.

Cons:

  1. Technology to implement.

Any thoughts gang? I just feel I should have to think about my life for the next hour when there has to be a way to solve the dreaded AFK leaver problem.

In short, the reason I think this would be hard to implement.

  1. You would need to find players willing to go into a game that is at that point a loss in the making, I say this because:
  2. For a player to be detected as afk he has to be afk for at least 2 minutes.
  3. If you don't that a player that disconnected for a minute because his router crashed can't rejoin his own game.
  4. A player usually goes afk because it is a losing game.
  5. If you can't find enough volunteers to make this work you would have to force players to replace existing players, which would be hated more.
  6. Even if a replace is successful, if the player had a crash and is finally back into the game, what will you do?

Overall I think implementing these would be at best a neutral change. I don't think it fixes the afk problems and that it is way to frustrating for people filling in for the afk's.

So for me it's a no, but I will upvote the post because I am curious of what other people think.

What is "s 7?"

Is this mastery? Are you talking about Mastery 7?

I'm pretty sure a "find a replacement" system has been on the minds of people for a long time... but the reason why such a system has not been made use of is the difficulty being able to find a replacement laner in the right skill bracket to do so. Not from a technical standpoint, but from a playerbase availability standpoint
