Do elo boosters really get banned?

I mean. How do they know they are boosting? IF you report them for cheating, what happens? Does that flag the account for riot to look at it? Also if they use VPN like someone told me before, doesn't that mean they won't get caught?

Riot can tell when another person is playing on someone's account. That is a punishable offense. At best, the account will be locked until ownership is claimed and likely be rendered ineligible for season rewards. At worst (or best, depending how you look at it), the account will be permanently banned.

Riot has many ways to detect it, they won't reveal what that's ways are or else the boosters will change their method more. It's the same for Scripts and all that kind of stuff too.

I reported a boosted account a few months ago, and I followed through with a support ticket including my evidence and a link to the offending op.gg page. The account has been inactive for some time now.

I can't swear that they didn't simply quit the game, but I think it's safe to say that the boosted account was banned.

What does it take to get an upvote in this part of this forum? I bet most of the people who downvote are a bunch of riot coat hanging boot lickers.

Dont know why this was downvoted as it is a serious question. ( dont get many of those here. )

Yes, cheaters and smurfs are all looked at, they are banned in waves usually. Vpns hide the users IP address but that does not mean that the account which is hosted on riot servers, cannot be deleted/perma'd.

A booster or an account being boosted? There's a difference.
