Haven’t played in years, forgot password, recovered account and it’s permabanned.

Okay so, I know these types of situations are extremely far fetched but maybe I can find some clarity here. I played league several years ago, I believe like season 2-4?5? I quit league to persue* a career in real life and haven’t touched it since. I don’t think I ever had any issues with being toxic in the game. Can’t recall on ever getting a chat restriction. Well anyway, I recently started league up again and of course I couldn’t remember my password. I made a new account and have been playing for a week now or so but it was just eating me alive that I have this account that was level 30 with hundreds of dollars shoveled into it, so I did my best to remember the email and try and recover it. And luckily I did, and it turns out it’s been permabanned. I’m not sure what this exactly means or how I received this ban. I can assure you I haven’t played league in years. I’m unaware if the account was compromised. If so, I’m sure you could compare IP addresses to verify that it wasn’t myself in control of the account. I’m not sure if it was a cheating ban or a behavioral ban. If there’s any type of clarity I could receive on my account that I’ve spent hundreds of hours on I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Your best bet is to submit a Support Ticket to Player Support. They may be able to tell you more details, and help you if necessary and/or appropriate.

You'd have to open a player support ticket because we can really only speculate here. Traditionally bans have been overturned when accounts are compromised, so your chances are good.

They won't do anything just from a Boards post, but you can absolutely send a ticket to player support: https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

I think, in some circumstances, they are willing to consider restoring ownership of an account if there is evidence it was compromised. I don't want to use any absolute language about that, since I'm not a Rioter or on the support team, but that's always been the recommendation that I've seen.
