Ranked and AFK

So, here I am 11-1-2 as Miss Fortune, and most of my team is doing really well when I just realize that I have a jungle Jax who is level 5 and AFK at base. The opposing team full of awful scores, win because of the inevitable lopsided game. They go on to do their best to try and ruffle my jimmies, ignoring how badly they just got beat despite their free win.

After the game, it continues and soon everyone has left. My team, their team. You rarely see more than maybe half of the affected team report a player and almost never anyone from the opposing team can be bothered to. I don't know what exactly happens to people who just AFK all game, but I do know a Loss Prevented wont happen... But I guess here is to my point. What are they suffering for leaving and removing all opportunity from the match? If I lose 18 - 20 points, I don't really care that he lost even 40 or 60 points or that he cannot play for even an hour or two. That doesn't do anything. What i'd rather see is a requirement of playing a certain number of normal games. Make it ten if you have to, but I wouldn't go any less. What I'd love is to see them forced to not even play normal games. ARAM, custom, and bot games.

People who AFK in ranked games have no business being there. It's even better when they aren't fully afk and they give their reasons. The reason humans have a prefrontal cortex is to imagine the future and allows us to answer questions such as: "Will I have to go to work before this game likely ends?" "Will my wife force me off cause she's already mad at how much I've played?" "Have I made ANY plans what so ever that will interfere with the next 20-50 minutes?"

Because all humans have this ability, I see no reason not to force them out of ranked for more than just a timer they could burn going to the restroom or microwave some processed food to gorge on.

I cant say i disagree with you. Your points are valid, and it is pretty darn annoying when someone afks in ranked. I think what could work if there is an afk is that the team with the afk wouldnt lose any lp but the afk would, and the opposing team would still get full lp for their win. This could probably be abused in some way, but i believe it could still be viable.

That's how people play this game...

it's not about sportsmanship.... you got 99% cam newton wannabes who talk only when they think they will win.... when they lose they handle it as well as cam does.... pouting and not wanting to talk.

That's our world.

Riot just likes to pretend sportsmanship exists because they hope the game gets accepted by the public as a real sport. Unfortunately the game community itself is at the level where telling people to kill themselves is "trash talk."
