My Opinion on Leaverbuster/Low Priority Queue

I was recently punished by the Low Priority Queue system for leaving too many games. The cause of my leaving? My internet. I have done whatever I can to fix my internet aside from buying better internet because I'm poor and I still can't get a stable connection. It takes me more than 5 minutes to reconnect causing in a leave and eventually, what I have on my account today (1/1/2017) the low priority queue status. This system is unfair in my opinion and I would like to suggest some changes to the system as well as my case.

I will start off with my case. I have bad internet. I have tried everything I can to get a stable connection and I keep disconnecting. Leaving for more than 5 minutes in the middle of a game after the 3-minute mark shouldn't be punishable but it is. Out of all my recent leaves, only ONE was a legit leave and that was because I had a change of plans out of my control. I will bring up the lack of control of a situation later on in this post. Today, I got my suspension after my client crashed during champ select of a ranked game. I understand that they punish you harder in ranked and I fully accept that fact. No argument there. But this was something out of my control. I got the low priority status, played a match, and then 4 more to go. I get into the champ select of another game and my internet goes out and the number of games gets reset to five.

This is my first point of my argument. Resetting the number of games back to five is complete nonsense. If you want the player to fix their habit, don't reset the number games because a lot of players just have bad connections. Others will most likely get the message after one or two wait times. There should be a chat log sent somewhere for people to judge whether they deserve the punishment or not.

My second point is that having to play around 20 games to reset your status to normal from the higher Leaverbuster status is unfair. I think the 5 games should be enough.

Thirdly, 5 wait times is way too long of 20 minutes. Most Summoner's Rift games last more than 30 minutes with the occasional 20-minute stomp. Having to wait 100 minutes in total is too long in my opinion.

The last point I would like to make is that people shouldn't be punished for things out of their own control. Things like emergencies, changes in schedules at that moment, internet crashes, etc. are some examples of ways that people have to leave games without any control over the situation.

I have a few points also the improve the system to make it fairer for players. First is to reduce the amount of waiting time. This can be done by either reducing the amount of wait time per game or reducing the number of waits in total. A normal Summoner's Rift game takes around 30-40 minutes. Waiting for the length of one match should be enough to get the mentality in and if it doesn't, make them wait again. I think 1/10 games of a leave should be punishable. As for how long the punishment should be, my suggestion would be to either have the player wait one 40 minute wait time or three 20 minute waits. One is longer but over a period of games while the other is all at once. The player should be able to choose between the 2 options. Another suggestion is that leaving the queue shouldn't reset the queue timer unless you leave the client. My last suggestion would be to make a new area of the League website that functioned like the old Tribunal where people can state their case and others can say if they deserved the punishment. As soon as the decision is made, the player's next queue has that wait. A log of previous cases should also be included in case the player is abusing the system by leaving often.

Those are my suggestions and my case for the Low Priority Queue.

The cause of my leaving? My internet.

A 5-minute AFK is easily enough to spoil a match for your teammates. You know what the problem is and the obvious solution is to stop playing League until you can afford better internet. I moved to a place that only had satellite internet and didn't play a match for 8 months because of the lag.

Be glad LPQ is the only punishment you received.

LOL, people shouldn't be punished for costing their team the game by playing on garbage internet? This game is competitive and played in real time, if you are gone for 5 minutes you put your team at a tremendous disadvantage. You deserve to be punished, in fact after awhile you'll end up getting banned from it.

If you get into a game knowing you have bad internet connection and will be gone; don't start a norm and definitely don't start a ranked. You deserve a punishment since you seem to continue to due this.

"Leaving for more than 5 minutes in the middle of a game after the 3-minute mark shouldn't be punishable but it is."

It should be punishable for the reason that it ruins your teams game.

Go play a bot game or a custom.

not that i agree with the punishment but it is what it is.. u got to understand that when someone dc/afk/lags/ power outage (any non able to play condition) ruins your team game completely. I've had low priority que due to client letting me into champ select then as loads the game it crashes. So i did what riot said and reinstalled into the c: drive bla bla guess what it still happened. They need to fix the client imo and not ban for that.. i sent them the logs and they didnt care. The only sent me on more of dl this and run it again then send us logs.. bla bla... at the end i found out the Razzer software and LoL dont get along and had to remove Razzer sigh....

In all honestly they should have the client check your ping, pc specs, and so on.. if your arent capable of playing on that pc the game then u cant log in.
