Players abusing pings to harass other players

So you made a mistake or was unable to do anything during a fight then you get spammed with the signals enemies are missing ping. It is not used to signal an enemy is missing but to harass and blame other players after they made a mistake or questioning why they did something.

I found myself in a situation many times where there was NOTHING I could do to save someone or I have to flash away from something and I get spammed with the question mark ping as to why I did not save them or why I flashed when there was nothing else I could do. It is very annoying after being helpless in a situation to then get harassed over it with these question mark pings. This never used to happen and I have noticed it happening a lot more to myself and others during matches.

I would really like to see an option to disable pings from certain players if it was ever possible as pings get abused way too often and at times are not used for their intended purpose.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Ping spam isn't fun for anyone. You can report someone for harassing you with pings. Make sure to mark them under the harassment option.

riot doesnt want people to be able to mute pings. because people still need a way to communciate with /mute allers

I have the ping audio set to mute.

I check the map mostly every 3 to 10 seconds.

Its people's fault they don't check the reason why you or anyone can't help them.

People seem to forget that there is a mana bar hud feature above most champions in the game. They also need to take into account how successful their ally has been, if they have been getting caught in jungle or destroyed in lane by whatever reason then there maybe a point where there is nothing that you can do.

Like a kha keeps getting 1v1 invaded by lee sin with perfect timing and kha gets far behind by a better enemy plus takes his camps.

If jungler takes too long farming scraps in his jungle or comes to lane to farm up, his team mates will go full retard mode and start raging at him/her which is bloody stupid I've seen this to my allies and enemies before.

One mid laner got super salty blaming his/her jungler and bot lane for feeding and she/he couldn't hold down the first mid tower for long but the bot and jungler was either unsucessful or couldn't attend to mid lane and this person didn't take into account that their allies against my champion comps or player skill cannot be beaten just yet and they rather not feed us so they retreat to heal in base and pick up some gold in jungle or other lanes while one guy who is defending for nearly 2 minutes is just flaming against a 1v3 or 1v4.

Players should keep priority on exp and money sometimes rather than just focusing all on one lane or objective it can just get you easily destroyed again.

TL;DR I have mutes on pings at all time, Players are selfish jerks, they lack common sense to quickly read mana, hp bars and cooldowns on certain ultimates.

I run into this issue too :/ even made a post about in awhile ago haha.

I wish there was a mute ping option, but I can understand why Riot can't really implement it or enforce it.

Most we can do is report and specifically note that they were spamming pings, but I do wish there was something else a player could do instead of muting all ping sounds from the game.

I experience this issue maybe every third game when some teammate is tilting because you should have saved them. I'm so thankful you made this thread, it really feels like more people care about it. When I play and someone pings you can't do anything about it which really bothers me. The mute would be amazing. Riot please notice this thread and do something about it or people will stop playing league because of all these spammers. DO SOMETHING!

Found this thread AFTER I created my own for the very same thing.

Frankly, I couldn't care less if someone might have something useful to convey, maybe, sometime down the road. With my temperament, if someone has behaved demonstrably like as asshat badly enough, consistently enough, that I want to mute their speech AND pings, it is more probable than not that their vindictive pinging is more harmful than that one moment of zen and clairvoyance where they ping something useful does good.

There are three other sets of eyes, four if I count my own. If none of those eight eyes saw the thing that the fifth dickhead on tilt might have pinged about, we deserve to be ganked. item 3361

I don't care, If I will dig this thread from its grave, but Riot! I need to hide ALL pings! Muting them doesn't work at all, because you are able to see thousands of pings and chat pokes. Today I lost the game, because of that. I couldn't focus at all.

As a Pantheon main my ult triggers an "on the way" ping, after thousands of games (in a row) I can tell you 1 ping is not usually enough to grab someones attention. I myself find repeated pings as the best way to make sure they know I'm coming and I want them to run into where I am using my ultimate. This is a very fast paced game and players can often be distracted or not understand the intensity of how important something is quickly enough (especially in normal matches or low ranked matches). More pings means a higher chance of successful communication. The ping limit is already set kinda low @ 5-6 pings per minute. Try and think of the volume of pings as an indication of how important it is rather than a personal slight against you. If I ping once I got the kill in the bag, you are welcome to come grab an assist, but if i ping till my pings time out, I need you to help me and I need it now or I will die for what would otherwise be an amazing play. The same measure can be applied to them using the "?" ping to disagree with a decision you made, 1 ping might be for placing a ward in a poor spot, 5 pings might be that you didn't use your ultimate as Amumu in a clutch team fight when it was clearly visible it was available in the HUD and everyone died for it (making plays that relied on it).

Yep I have Riot needs to allow pings to be muted when a player is muted as a second option I have to type /mute all, and turn off my sound which means I can end up feeding the enemy because I cant hear wards or enemy skills being used.

LOL used to have this feature in it many many years ago.
