Can someone explain how AFK Bans work???

Ive just completed 5, ten minute queue bans for "afking" when really Ive hard a really bad problem with my net lately.

This isnt the issue.

My issue, is that after completing all 5 queue bans, I played a game and had to restart client because of FPS lag ( my comp fan came unmounted and had to fix it) and in just ONE game where I was DC'd for 5+ min and I was immediately given TWENTY MINUTE queue bans after one game?

So can someone explain why my timers went from 10 minutes to 20 minutes, after completeing all five 10 minute bans and reconnecting to just ONE game?

And if you can explain it, can you justify it?

It took too long for you to reconnect, potentially causing a disadvantage and a lot of grief to your team. That is why you received another low priority queue. The reason it is now 20 minutes is because you have left too many games and your penalty has increased each time as a result. Playing enough matches without leaving will diminish your leaver status so that you receive just the 5 minute LPQ's or even no penalty at all.

similar to the punishment tier system. Leaver buster has their own tiers as well.

5 min x 5 games
10 min x 5 games
20 min x 5 games

After completing your 10min x 5 games queue, you were on the edge of leaver buster already. You immediately DCed / AFK thus the system deemed you as "extremely toxic and unwilling to change" thus immediately bumped you to the harshest punishment.

It doesn't matter whether you AFKed purposely or DCed due to technical errors, the damage is done and your team has to 4v5 and it effected everyone in the game.
