Why is it so difficult to mitigate the effects when someone AFK's in your team
Seriously RIOT, right now about 15% of my games are decided by an AFK on someones team, and about **45% **of my games are influenced by a player who is 'tilted' or is flaming the team. How am I supposed to rank up if my teammates decide to AFK, int split push the entire game while refusing to communicate, or type in /all chat for 80% of the game.
An hour ago I lost my game (that I was winning) due to a Jayce AFK'ing in base and then (I assume auto) disconnecting after ~5 minutes (he didn't say anything). Result: **I lost my promos. ** What am I supposed to do, I can't do anything about it and it only influences me and my team. It's not like banning him helps, have you not realized that yet? People won't stop AFK'ing without a proper punishment, and people will indefinitely quit the game more easily if there isn't some form of mitigation for those who lose their ranked games because a teammate of theirs decides to AFK/Flame. It's like this game has become a RNG game of whether you or your opponents get the AFK/Flaming player.
There are multiple ways to solve this issue, starting with giving the teammates a loss prevention. Maybe give the player who AFKs a warning that when he goes AFK again he will be blocked from ranked play until he plays, let's say 10 normal games without AFK'ing.
If this continues to be the issue in 60% of my games I'm going to
my way outta here.
