AFK problem

This game is getting more and more chaotic every day ! specially every '' big break '' like spring break, christmas etc. I'm not talking about myself just talking in general about what i've seen. How in a game you can be ban for sayin the word '' %%% or fuck '' getting banned for 14 days or having a chat restriction but if you goes afk you got absolutely nothing except a low queue priority if you are reaaaaalllllllly unlucky ! and even with that you can still go in game normally but the guy who say '' %%% '' can only speak 3 time at the beginning and have other '' access '' to the chat each 4-8 minutes... srsly ? how you wanna try to build a teamfight when you have someone going afk but oh oh you arent allowed to speak anymore !

Like by exemple Counter-Strike Global Offensive, you leave one game you got an instant ban !

Why riot isnt doing the same thing ? i'd rather have someone toxic in a game then a afk tbh !

we are getting into season 6 nothing has changed when you have someone not connecting/leaving the game nothing happens you still lose your 1o/25 lps no lose prevented... like srsly after 6 season nothing has been fix.

Now i'm talking about myself; i'm working like 55-60h/weeks I can only play like 3-4 per weeks i'm stuck in my series gold 2 to gold 1 as we speak today 27th december 2015 i've failed my series 3 time because we had a afk in every game ! I'm not even kidding! Being in bronze - Silver ... i wouldnt mind but it's almost freaking plat and people still leave - doesnt connect... tbh riot need to do something about that.Amumu

The way I see it is that a player will be "afk" for a variety of reasons:

a) their internet crashed b) computer crashed c) they had to leave for a personal reason d) they rage quit

The first two reasons are completely understandable. Nobody can really predict that they're going to lose connection, it just kind of happens and it upsets them as much as everyone else on their team. From the way I see it, they didn't do anything wrong and don't deserve to be punished for something that was totally out of their control. It happens to me from time to time and it sucks but I have to deal with it and I'm glad that I've never been banned as a result.

However, c and d are totally avoidable and are punishment worthy. You shouldn't ever start a game if you're tight for time or know that you have a commitment that you have to attend to. Rage quitting is also pretty unacceptable.

I'm not sure about what you've been seeing but the reasons people afk in my games is primarily the first two reasons. I rarely have people that rage quit or just kind of disconnect after sitting in fountain for two minutes.

I get that it sucks when a teamate afk's but it's ubiquitous in this game, and many games like it. Everyone is affected by it and that's why, in the long run, it's fair. I hope you'll be a little less harsh on the people who really can't control not being able to participate in the game because of technical issues.

totally fine about that,

but they need to give loss prevented or something..

I'm pretty sure the reason they don't implement a loss prevention system is to avoid abuse. Think about it, someone could go into a game on their main account with a friend on a smurf and afk on purpose if they're losing, and all of their teammates would get loss prevented. This would get even worse at high elo because a lot of people in those games know each other just from playing and could beat the system with only a bit of foresight. The leaverbuster system punishes people who afk frequently so that they will be less likely to do it again. In my opinion the way it's setup right now is the most fair for everyone at all ranks.
