I know my friend signed the TOS, but this is pretty BS. Banned for saying %%% twice in one game doesn't make sense to me, I've seen behavior way throughout the 5 years I've played. Not sure what happened during this game, nor do I know if a bot banned him. Just wondering if there's a possibility of manual review the game to see if he got aggravated. I understand if it doesn't happen cause rules are rules. His user is MikeNLel

Hate speech results in an automatic 14-day ban on the first offense, and a perma on the 2nd. Riot has a zero tolerance policy in this regard. And yes it was likely a bot, as key words such as the one he used are not allowed under any circumstance, so if he used it the bot can safely ban him for 14-days.

If he didn't know, sorry he had to find out this way. But he needs to be very careful in the future or he could lose his account.

Your friend was banned by a bot - called the Instant Feedback System (IFS) - although whether he got punished by a bot or a human being doesn't matter, as the case is cut and dry. Your friend used hate speech, which resulted in an escalated punishment - likely a 14-day ban, given that you mention it's his "first time trash talking".

A manual review would still result in the same verdict - Riot doesn't allow hate speech, so, the ban will remain in place. Your friend would do well to learn from this, as any misbehavior on his part following the 14-day ban will result in the loss of his account.

If he trash-talks, flames, uses hate speech, etc. - he'll be permanently banned.

Yeah, this is just another "classic Riot games" moment where they will ban you for literally nothing. I got perma banned for saying that word in the end-game lobby to someone that wasn't even there (after he left, it was just me and my friend there, and I said "what a ******"). And the whole "zero-tolerance" bullshit is the most narrow-minded policy I've ever seen be enforced by a company. In a last-ditch effort to make their game less toxic, they start banning people who are less or as toxic as everyone else in this game that's been punished, by saying ONE WORD. And if you get offended by a word like this, that's your choice. Keep the swear filter on. But banning people for using this kind of language is just so stupid. Especially when you consider that swearing and shit talking is allowed in this game, but they only ban certain words. If someone can explain how this makes any sense whatsoever, I would appreciate that.

P.S. I also got banned on a smurf account for saying "n*gga". That's real fucking mature, Riot.

If you're serious about hate speech, you get a serious ban.
