"Do you have friends mate?"

How I am supposed to reply to that question?

I mean it showed that obviously they were trolling and I wanted to not mute them since it's cooperative teamwork game and we are in the tight spot.

However, what happened is I replied in the wrong way and they took it up in the wrong way which turned into toxic trolling behavior.

In the end game lobby, the same person who asked me, that person said: "He told me that I have no friends."

[slayer-jinx-unamused]

They even afterward tried to add me and inviting me to their party.

Basically below the line is, I want to try by not muting people as possible because I don't think that's the solution to everything. Therefore, how I can solve this as in good sports manners?

What. Feels like some context is missing. Or is this a shitpost?

"who needs friends when i have [insert champion you're currently playing]? he'll always be by my side unlike some people"

would be something i'd likely say to that.

if you act defensively, you reward their douchyness. it's best to play along and bore them

Idk? Just say yes or no and continue playing. Lol i dont quite get this. Are you looking for a cool way to respond? Something clever? Why not just give em an honest answer? Or better yet, since its a loaded question, dont take it seriously and just dont answer it.
