Unprofessional Riot Employee + question about punishment

2 Easy 4 Me·12/5/2017, 4:51:08 AM·5 votes·843 views

Yo.

I just made a ticket, and some Riot guy decided to completely avoid the question and answer around the question generally. Then he marked the ticket as 'solved' lmao. Anyway, then I asked him one more time and asked him to be more specific. Guess what happens? He deleted my ticket lol wtf??!

So yeah, I don't know if this is acceptable at all, but whatever, I'll just ask u guys.

Here it goes:

The punishment system is generally set up in a 4-way system. As following: 10 Game Chat Restriction 25 Game Chat Restriction 14-Day Ban and finally: Permanent Ban

Here is my question: Lets say that I got a 14-day ban. That means, the next time I get reported a couple of times, I will get permanently banned. BUT, what if I didn't get reported in a year or 300 days or something like that, AFTER I got my 14-day ban? Will the punishment reset to Point 1 (10 game chat restriction) or Point 2 (25 game chat restriction) or what will happen?

I would like to know this if I should trash my account or nah, because im not gonna spend more money and time on an account that could potientially get perm banned for nothing. I always get punished for even the smallest and most innocent things.

I hope one of you have an answer for this :) Best Regards!

You can earn back good status. How long it takes depends on your behavior and how many games you play.

From what I recall, you do drop tiers for neutral or good behaviour but that depends on time AND games played, simply not touching your account for a year won't make you drop tiers

if you're trying to figure out how long you must wait before you account is reset. Its not really a time thing more of amount of good standing games Something like 3-6 months of consistent play where you're a + rather than a - to your teams atmosphere. But yeah the punishment does decay. They never will tell you how much or how long since it varies person to person.

4-6 months of consistent good behavior. This can be longer if you play less games, or shorter if you play more.

You cant just take 6 months off and come back to a fresh account. You have to play, and demonstrate that you're no longer an asshole.

OP, you are on your very last chance. This is the time to acknowledge that your behavior in game chat us unacceptable. Your account will only come back into good standing if you have more positive games. These aren't just wins, it's about attitude. Here are some simple tips:

  • Don't flame or harass your team for the slightest mistake. Everyone is trying to win. Shit happens sometimes. It is not your job to berate them in any way.

  • Don't use hate speech. This is self explanatory.

  • Don't respond to trolls. Someone inting? Just don't respond to their shit. That's what they want. You responding gives them what they want and you get screwed because you stooped to their level. Simply ignore it until the game ends, still play your hardest, and report them at post game.

  • Do not call for bans. 1 report = 9 reports in terms of weight. You may not get that notification your report worked, but you are helping to build a case against a player who more than likely does the same thing to everyone.

If any if these are too hard for you, then unbinding your enter key might help. Your last 14 day ban is the last chance at reform. The smallest bit of negativity will destroy your account. Which is more important? Getting the last word in on some random person over a game, or the account you spent time and money on?

And don't listen to the jackasses that have a permaban for being straight dicks and can't accept it. A person who can't accept the responsibilities of their words and actions hasn't mentally grown past 5. You have a chance, use it wisely.

In addition to what the others have said, to be clear, it won't really matter if you get an occasional report. Only substantiated reports will actually count against you.

If some butthurt teammate reports you for toxicity and intentional feeding because you didn't gank his lane, you're totally safe, despite being on your last warning. Just don't actually break any rules.

My advice Take a 2-3 week break from the game, you're getting worked up and stressed out over league too much and it's effecting both your play and attitude.

Then I suggest removing your ability to use the enter key in game via razer synapses 2.0 if you have a razer keyboard or autohotkey and removing the chat entirely if you feel like you get angry from seeing people talk poorly about you. There is a helpful tutorial by devi on youtube about this if you need a step by step guide.

After you feel like enough time has passed (I'd say 3-4 months from now) you can move on to using /n or /note when responding to someone who's negative if you think you still want to retype what you just typed than you can send it to them (by doing this it helps calm you down, most people say hurtful thing in the heat of the moment), if you ever find yourself wondering how toxic you may have been you can check the Mynote.txt file that's in your League of Legends folder.

Helpfully this helps you and anyone else who comes across this thread looking to be less toxic.

Edit: Also disable all chat, there is no need for it. It will only allow the enemy team to tilt you, or in most cases it show messages of negative teammates complaining in all chat.

Don't trash your account, keep using it until it gets banned, and then start a new one. Make no mistake if you already have a strike against you in the current autoban bot league you will eventually be banned, but take this time to use that account as much as you can until it is banned, than move on to the next one. And call it sometime clever like "suckitritougreedybitch"

you wont get permabanned, even if you get reported. You need to continue what you've done before to get banned.

I'd be interesting to some chat logs, probably 100% warranted. Just dont type if you're gonna flame

They might've closed your ticket, not actually deleted it. But yea, general automated answers as a 'first responder' suuuck, they're there for those lost souls that don't read tos, faqs, manuals, or are too lazy to google. Look at it as 'have you tried turning it off and on again?' line.

speaking of google, found this: https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/207489286-Instant-Feedback-System-FAQ-#h1q3

Players who show consistent reform or show positive behavior in their games will help heal their accounts reputation.

my understanding is there is no decay, you have to work at it/reform. getting honored might help.

and finally, my opinion is no one gets punished for the smallest thing. i can say/type (what might be perceived as) offensive things without using foul words, while defending myself or another player, and i will mute if they keep the attitude. and I can even swear without triggering even a warning. maybe it's balanced by the fact that i'm also nice to non-trolls. idk. it's not hard to see what can get you banned these days and just NOT DO IT, guys! if u cant help urself, just mute! remove or unbind ur chat key, there are ways lol disabling all chat was a good change for me, not cus enemy was oh so toxic, but because my own team mates were using all chat to instigate shit. don't fall for that, man

as I understand it time doesn't matter. its a set number of games played that will eventually reduce the punishment.

but it is nearly impossible to do if you are going to use chat at all. either disable chat or make a new account. otherwise you are going to end up permabanned
