Why am I punished for trying to flame obvious trolls

well lets see, started off saturday i believe because i got a chat restriction for 10 games because i told the enemy team to report our top lane because not only was he feeding and not communicating he had a troll build cause troll lyfe. so ya ya anyways on my 10th game it so happens there was this duo troll that were flaming so hard so i obviously had to put a stop to it cause they were flaming my brother and friend when we were the ones that carried their sorry arses and obviously they got butt hurt because trolls hate when you call them out and try to say they arent but you can clearly see they troll because of the previous game history. i report the trolls all the time yet i get reported for negative behavior and what not. you guys are clearly dumb... like if there werent so many trolls on this god damn game then there wouldnt be so many people with awful behavior.

I dunno, because you're flaming? It doesn't matter who you're flaming, it's still flaming, and it's still against the rules. [zombie-brand-mindblown]

Well firstly, lets have you define troll.

FYI:

If they suck, its not trolling.
If they are building off-meta, its not trolling.
If they don't build defenses, its not trolling.
If they pick an unpopular champ, its not trolling.
If they decide to split push all game, its not trolling.
If they decide to proxy the enemy waves, and die for it, it's not trolling.
If they decided to "Feed" the enemy ADC when there is a good Mordekaiser player on the team, it MAY be trolling, but that is also a strategy that works.
If they don't choose a tank as last pick, thats not trolling.
Dying over and over again in lane most likely isn't trolling either, they are probably just bad.
Did I mentioned that being bad isn't trolling?
The support taking CS (or KSing for that matter) isn't trolling.

Trolling, most the time is pretty concrete. Eating your team mates as Tahm Kench and then throwing them in the middle of the turret or enemy team IS trolling.

There aren't that many trolls in game, but there are plenty of players whom are bad (me included in the bad category).

Do you think it's ok to kill a murderer? An extreme example I know, but you responded to a reportable offense, with a reportable offense. it's easy to see how you would be punished.

Reasons you were punished:

You went fishing for reports: There is no reason to do so. 1 Report will flag the game for review.
Even if they are flaming you, it is not justification to make a bad situation worse. That's why it's recommended that you Mute AND Report, with no further comments from you directed towards anyone that may or may not be flaming you. Flaming, or Counter-Flaming, does not matter. Many a person who has come here to ask why they received punishments, have been because they were just "calling-em out" (read: flaming)

If you think you are innocent, or if you're confused as to why you received the punishment you did, then you may post the chat log in its entirety that was sent to you from Riot.
