Don't even bother continuing to play this game if you intend to use the chat. No matter what, eventually you will get banned. Toxic players will get to you and the second you say something, it's your fault. Over 4 years played and over $1,000 spent on this game and I am now perma banned due to the simple fact that I will not allow myself to take a verbal beating and not stand up for myself. This is pathetic. Not to mention, I most likely get reported for my name even though it's just a joke. People are too sensitive. What is this world coming to? When you can't even defend yourself on a video game? A competitive one at that.

Using your name as a shield to say "lol you only dislike my behavior because of my name" is incredibly disingenuous.

On to what you did, you weren't "defending yourself" by lashing out back at them, you were retaliating. There's nothing to defend yourself from when someone is being a dick, you just ignore them and move on.

Stand up for yourself when it's relevant, yes. In an internet game playing with strangers you'll likely never see again and lashing out at someone who clearly is trying to get your goat isn't standing up for yourself, it's just retaliation. You're not defending anything by lashing out at toxic players, it isn't standing up for yourself, it's just a twisted sense of pride that keeps you from knowing which battles are worth fighting.

I've played for years and I've been regularly using chat.

I've never received so much as a warning since I know how to use it maturely.

Just mute the toxic ragers and laugh at them internally before you report them at the end of the game. They can't even control their own temper and rage at anonymous strangers online, so why would you care about what their opinions are?

First of all, if you're "defending" yourself by hurling insults and harassing them back, that's not truly defending yourself. That's simply lowering yourself to their level and becoming just as annoying as they are to the other people in the game.

Secondly, why do you feel the need to "defend" yourself against a stranger over the internet? These people know absolutely nothing about you and you shouldn't be letting their words get to you.

Anyone with self respect would recognize that words have no power. The words of random anonymous people on an online game are the perfect example of "sticks and stones might break my bones, but words will never hurt me."

Anyone with self respect would also recognize that your response has no impact on the other people. They could care less, and actually get a kick out of your response. Your "self defense" is actually feeding them and giving them a sense of meaning that didn't exist before.

The only thing preventing success in today's society is the sense of entitlement that leads to every perceived slight causing someone to feel offended.

I dont get it... League is known far and wide for the punishment policy. If you want to play that game you better take that big spoon, eat the pile of crap you get served and better say thanks afterwards. Thats just how it is, i mean.. there are alternatives yk?
