Questions about a chat restriction

So yesterday I got a chat restriction, I don't mind i'm pretty toxic in games tbh, actually quite suprised I didn't get chat restricted before this. But besides that I just have a question or two about the chat restriction, I heard from one of my friends that I won't be able to get loot for the next 3 months, just wondering if this is accurate. And if it is not then how long can I not get loot? Again i'm not compaining about the chat restriction, just wondering what the reprocussions are.

You wont be earning loot till you show the system you have reformed/improved your behavior. You do this by playing games. Im not sure how loot restrictions go, but the 3 month is for your tier of punishment to go down, and even then its just a rough estimate. Seeing how you just got a chat restriction it shouldnt be that long as long as you keep playing.

TL:DR Says nothing about loot, only season rewards, and even then.. I'm not sure if it's if your ineligible from getting a chat ban during the season, or if you don't receive the rewards unless you get multiple chat bans.. and/or if your chat ban is still on-going when the season ends.

If your concerned about season rewards, I'd suggest submitting a support ticket to verify.

actually. i just got off a chat ban about a month ago, and got a key frag literally the game after i played it off. i think they changed it so it works the same as end of season rewards now. if a rioter could confirm this that would be great
