Just wondering if anyone could give me any info on this topic. Are the going to bring tribunal back it has been down for as long as i can remember. How does the banning work? It feels like reporting is just a waste of my finger energy.

We will be working on the voting system once we've finished up the new champ select.

The voting part of the Tribunal is coming back, I doubt it'll be any sooner than the end of the year though.

Right now you get banned through an automatic system. It's a big complicated, here's the full explanation. tl;dr: lots of valid reports->chat restriction->2 week ban->perma ban

When someone reports you, your game's log is sent to Riot's automatic system. The system will scan the chat log for keywords/phrases/patterns that the community consistently reports as negative, or if you're reported for intentionally feeding, it can check amount of deaths, when you died, etc. If you were negative/intentionally fed, the system will call the report valid and put a red mark on your record.

If you get reported again, it'll check the report again to see if it's valid and make another mark. If you get reported many times in a short time frame, the system will send you a behavioral message: The "You've been reported, consider your actions" message.

If and when you'll get a punishment depends on what % of your games you're reported in. If you're reported almost every game, it will take fewer games to get the restriction, whereas if you get reported say in half of your games the system will take a little more time. As long as you're reported in a small percent of your games, you'll never be punished- even if you break the rules in those few games.

If you are punished, there are only 4 punishments, and they escalate, not repeat. Usually you'll start with a 10 game chat restriction. Riot said in the past that 80% of the people that get chat restrictions reform. For those 20% that do not reform, they'll be automatically escalated to a 25 game chat restriction after a few games. If they still don't reform, they'll get a 2 week ban then a permanent one.

It's possible to be escalated past chat restrictions into a 2 week ban or permanent ban if you're particularly toxic or use hate speech regularly, as Riot has a zero tolerance policy for it.

If you go three months after a punishment without qualifying for another one, you're considered reformed, so you de-escalate your punishment ranking. If your next punishment would have been a 2 week ban, but you went 3 months without getting reported much, your next punishment would de-escalate to another 25 game chat restriction.

Note: If you didn't do anything wrong, the report is considered invalid. It won't make a mark on your record, and the person that reported you will get a mark on their "report validity" record. When people consistently report falsely, their reports will stop sending the chat log to Riot on their own- but if they start reporting correctly again, they can improve their standing.

That should be everything.

it is my friend, ever reported a troll who intentionally feeds or afks? just look up their match history, they'll be playing for the next days without any reprisal.

the tribunal will almost likely never come back

There is no tribunal, just an automated system. Riot commits fraud by saying that there is a "tribunal". That's why intentional feeding and trolling goes unpunished. If this game wasn't free, half of riot stuff would be behind bars for deliberate fraud of the public and they would pay huge amounts in compensations.of course things change if some of you have paid money for skins etc and your games get ruined for no reason. In general, i predict that Riot will be stand to court for numerous reasons pretty soon. I have logs even of terrorism (religiious threats) and these people neer received any ban or reform.

Sometimes it works and sometimes not. I reported a few people that said plenty of racist remarks and homophobic remarks and insult everyone in the game and some of us reported them but yet nothing happened. Waited 20 or so mins to get that mesg popup saying a player was punished but Nope. Roit still have abit of work left to do with the report system.

Well if u were reporting people for fake reasons, your reports might have lost value.
