Discussion with a toxic person

Hello everyone. I'll tell you something about myself and about my LOL experience and then we can have a nice discussion about flame/bans etc ( if you want to). I'm a EUNE mid main in low DMD. I am what you would consider "toxic". I don't flame that much, nor do I flame bad players just because they lost their lane. What I do very often though is flame INTers, people who refuse to communicate or people who flame me or my teammates for stupid reasons( like losing lane, not ganking their lane, etc.) I got a lot of chat bans and even some 14 day bans back in the old days, which I admit I got with a reason. BUT in the last 2 years I think the system is just pure shit. I got 2 14-day BANS on two separate accounts for nothing. EXAMPLE: I got a 7 day ban(had a bad few days of tilt), I was like "Ok i should write less and more polite. I fucked up. I don't flame I'm was doing ok. Then I have two games where I was toxic and I get a 14 days ban. (1. game I literally just wrote "fuck you" to a cassio top that was shittalking me because I lost lane with my main champ , and on the other one i flamed a guy at the very end of the game before the defeat screen pops up because he inted , something along the lines of "go fuck yourself you retarded piece of shit". Is that fair? I even wrote in the chat how funny it is that I will probably get a ban and he won't.(Ironic) I'm tired of this shit and that's why I'm making this post. And now some statements. I think riot should put up the tribunal again (I know it had its flaws but if they fixed it up a bit, I think people can decide much better when someone should get punishments and when not). I don't think "kys" or "get cancer" are highly toxic things to say(specially not in my region). Do you really think someone will kill himself just because you told them "kys" once? I don't like how a lot of people here on the forums like the fact that you get permabans for being toxic (aka I would rather like a permachat ban or dotas system) I think it's funny that when players start a discussion here about how they got banned for flaming back a toxic person, you tell them: " You shouldn't have talked back, just mute him." So why would there be a permaban for flaming if you yourself said you can just mute the toxic player? You can't "mute" someone who ints. You have to swallow the lost LP and go next game, but you can always mute a toxic person and the problem is mostly solved (yes I know you lose a lot of communication but still )

These are my statements , you can post your opinions on them maybe I will even change my mind. You can ask me other stuff if you want. This either won't get any attention or it will be downvoted a lot but I don't care. But if you downvote it , it would at least be nice of you to tell me your opinion and reason why you downvoted. Thanks for your time I'll be back in 2-3 hours to check if someone replied.

The mute button is a shield, not an excuse.

It exists to protect players from harassment. It does NOT exist to ENABLE harassment, even though, yes, it could be used for that purpose.

Riot wants a community where players are polite and respectful, and have the tools they need to avoid those who aren't. They do NOT want a community where players feel free to abuse and harass each other, and the players who are sportsmanlike, friendly, and want to just play a fun game are effectively forced to ignore chat and mute everyone after being insulted a few times. Soon those players will start to mute everyone and, given the toxicity that would encourage, leave the community.

It's also worth noting that the IFS actually is based on what people report, and what they reported in the Tribunal. You wouldn't see a change in how punishments work, because the PLAYERBASE is the group that decided that things like "kys" was entirely unacceptable in every context.

The fact is League is competitive, but also entirely dependent on random teammates. The matchmaking isn't very good, so frequently players have to deal with immature, unskilled, stupid players. It is frustrating.

I wish Riot would put half the amount of effort into fixing their matchmaking/ranking system that they put into banning vocal, frustrated players who just had 40 minutes of their time wasted by a moron they shouldn't of had to play with.

They are trying to hide the symptoms rather than focusing on the cure.

I think Riot may argue about how they prefer this system because people who flame back to "toxic players" basically get a free pass to say anything hatred, foul, or whatever sorts of communication =/. Plus, people who flame back do not have the capability to solves problem (solving the problem using involves two people compromising or getting along afterward). Telling a toxic player, "you're toxic" "you're dumb" or whatever in general isn't going to stop them or make them have a change of heart. It's just another way to rage/vent. The same way the original "toxic player" rage/vent, just different purpose. D=

The mute function is not an excuse to flame. It's for people who are not mentally capable of withstanding the problem or treating the problem correctly. For example, I never clicked the mute button. I never get stressed, angry, hateful, or whatever. I want all possible lines of communication to be open, so I can send and benefits from information, and so they can send and benefit from information. _I want to say...when all my conflicting teammates acknowledge that I have no disturbance/hatred in my head, they focus and become more calm. Unfortunately, there's a higher correlation of this when I perform incredibly well. _ If you really have a wide knowledge of perspectives, vocabulary, experience, or whatever, to change the player's attitude, you can type to resolve the problems. League of Legends makes it very difficult since there's no time to type. It's not the place either. End-lobby is a good place, but people would quit out of stress, cowardice, pride, or to influence their emotions by having the last word (EX: "Whatever, you're suck and have fun being hard-stuck (Silver 5/Gold 5/Plat 5/Diamond 5).

Mental development is an important thing. If you can and if you hold a similar idea/perspective, be more caring and considerate and try to make the world, in terms of emotions, a better place. Easier said than done. xD
