Permanent Ban - No Email, No Support Response - Advice?

So, I haven't been online since October 1st. My friend wanted to try League, so I logged in last night.

I receive a message that says I have been permanently suspended, and to check my email regarding the reason. Mind you I haven't been on the game in nearly three months, so this came as a surprise to me.

I have verified that I haven't received any emails from Riot in regards to my account suspension. I've placed a support ticket, but have yet to receive a response.

Has this ever happened to anyone else, and what should I expect? I believe this has to be a mistake, however, from what I've read, it looks like Riot can sometimes not be the best in regards to communication.

Thank you for your insight!

Inactive accounts are common prey for hackers to try out their scripts, send boosting messages or even use the account to boost others.

As Panth Mid said, if there were chargeback or suspicious activity going on, then Riot would suspend the account to prevent further damage.

Support tickets will take a while to be responded to, as they have a large number to tickets sent in during the holiday season. So hang tight and wait for a response.

Here is what can be expected:

  1. They say the account was suspended due to (whatever) reason, and won't be unbanned.
  2. If those aren't things you did, ask them to forward you to the Fraud department and investigate for suspicious activity.
  3. They will ask you security questions. Answer them to verify you are the owner.
  4. If not unbanned by then, ask them to forward you to the behavioral department and ask them to investigate whether the activity was done during the time the account was compromised .
  5. Your account should be unbanned by now.

If you buy content and credit card gets rejected, or if unusual account behavior like logging in from a new location. Open a support ticket.

Thank you for the long, educated response - I appreciate it!

Do you think it odd that I can download and play on the PBE even though I have this ban going on?

I had an issue upon opening the client last night that crashed it every-time I opened it. Opening it via "Open as Administrator" worked.

Do you think it's at all possible that this by-passes PunkBuster, and creates an auto ban on the client?

Your account on the PBE is separate from your account on the main server that you play on. The ban on your main account is just on that one account, not your IP address or you as a player.

As it's the Holiday season, less specialists are on deck. An Account Support Specialist should get to you this week.

As an update, I received an update from Riot in the support forums.

They banned my account because they noticed someone who wasn't me was using it.

My ticket was escalated, and I should hear from support via email soon.

Thanks for all the input!

Don't worry, we got your back. The account was already locked to prevent any further unauthorized access. I do see you have two tickets open on this, so one of them will likely be closed out to prevent confusion. The ticket was escalated to our account recovery team, who will reach out to you asap and help restore access. Hang tight until we reply back!"
