i believe i should have been chat restricted instead of 14 day banned right away. I have never received any punishments before. What did i say that warranted this immediate escalation?

It was probably the following:

  1. Telling another player to "stfu."
  2. Use of "retarded" as an insult.
  3. Crude sexual content.
  4. Encouraging self-harm.

The last of these (seen in your "kys" comments) typically earns a 14-day ban on the first confirmed offense.
