The madman has done it again! (toxicity and advice)

Permabanned. Again! Thought I'd learnt my lesson- made a new account, told myself I was reformed, told myself I was above it all- then, flamed game after game, thinking "next time will be better". It's sad. I can't even stop myself from telling my teammates that they should kill themselves (among other things) for playing badly. The worst part is that I deserved this ban long ago. The Instant Feedback System is so easy to avoid that it's laughable, but sometimes you don't censor yourself because you feel like "kill yourself" has more punch than "ky5". In the end, I got what I needed. My advice to other players that consider themselves "at risk" of a ban is to just unbind your enter key. Pings work to communicate most details. You really don't need to say "gg useless team 1v9 every game". It isn't worth it. As a side note, I'm thinking of quitting league. Not sure if I want to play without chat. Vote on it, would you?

If you're unhappy with the idea of playing League without chat and don't feel you can chat without toxic behavior, I would suggest at least a break -- a game is, ultimately, supposed to be fun.

If, in time, you can find other outlets for your frustration, that would be a good time to come back and try again.

That's an idea. Probably will do that, I've uninstalled the client to give myself a forced break of at least a month. Cheers for the advice.

And cheers to you for taking the responsible approach to the problem. Best of luck to you. If you ever find you're interested in advice for dealing with the in-game frustration, let me know -- always happy to try to help people who seriously seek to reform. :)

Try listening to different styles of music... Certain ones make me more relaxed and others not so much.

Or you could, you know, not tell people to kill themselves?

Recent studies have shown that at least 95% of the global population are able to function and lead normal lives without telling people to kill themselves.

There is hope for you yet.

Oh wow, I never even considered that it was possible to continue existing without telling people to kill themselves! Nope, I thought that telling people to kill themselves was both normal and acceptable! It wasn't something I was trying to stop doing, no no! Thanks for your revolutionary insight, friend.

But on a more serious note rage is one of the emotions I can't empathise with, I can only feel it. I do sometimes flame trolls or whatnot but for the most part I've taught myself I just calmly ask them why there doing what there doing and if they are just being an asshole for being an asshole's sake I just mute them and report afterwards.

But I do kinda know the reasons for why i'd flame sometimes. I actually get worked up by some of my losses that could have been wins or I'm tired and lacking sleep or something in my real life actually influencing me. Could be any number of factors from a lack of sleep to eating patterns that can cause bursts of high points and low points etc etc.

I can't help with your aggression but I'm not going to talk down to you or put myself on a pedistal or anything like that either. But what I can give you advice on is how to control it better. Lets say in the few games where I flame somewhat I didn't control myself well enough I'd probably end in the same situation as you. What we frequently do becomes a habit. The more so you allow yourself to indulge in these habbits is the harder it is gonna be to break these. You might eventually be able to stop flaming completely just by not doing it. But obviously for it to work you'd have to not allow slippages like the triggers of these bans though.

I was an angry person but what made calm down is an unwillingness to go below someone that did something I didn't like. Whenever you're in the situation to flame someone just weigh the cost of actually flaming them. When you flame the cost is all your lol assets. When you see someone playing like crap what's it gonna cost you to flame them? It's gonna cost that person to lose whatever mental cushion they were gripping tightly on so they don't do worse to slip more and more and they eventually play worse.

Another thing that also helps me to be a bit nice is I play a lot of off builds. Not in ranked though, just normals. By doing this I experience a lot of failures and play like crap many games. But because I end up with teamates that put up with my shenanigans I in turn try to treat people the best I've been treated.

But these are just suggestions. You might even find your own unique way to co-exist with the not-so-bright side of the league community. But no matter what way you find you have to keep this thought at the very least in the back of you're head: "Would I actually be setting a good example if I said this to that guy?" You actually have to think this to your self, kick the rage aside and actually discuss this question with yourself.

Well enough of my rambling. If you do leave the game I hope you get a better sense of control over these types of things. Best wishes and all that. :D
