If you didn't already, please read the nunu ban thread before reacting.

But wait! Communication doesn’t stop after you press the Enter button on your keyboard; and that’s where we saw a problem in this particular case. All of us need to be aware of the difference of communicating “with” someone vs. communicating “at” someone. Telling your team what you’re going to do and then ignoring them isn’t really working with them it’s holding them hostage. Telling your team what you want to do and actually working towards a common plan is a central part to playing any team based game.

I would like to get a clear answer on when this kind of playstyle is allowed after asking your teammates. RIOT said that if you want to do any strange off-META playstyle (for example: double-mid, double-jungle,...), you have to ask your team if they are ok with it. Now I want to know: when is a team ok with it and when can't you get banned for 'troll'? (see poll)

Let's make a little poll here: Description of the case: If 'Take The Draw' (the Nunu player) had asked in championselect if everyone was ok with his playstyle,

You'll never be able to play off-meta unless you team as 5. Why? Because people will report you and Riot will be like: "We don't ban you for playing off meta unless your team reports you for playing off meta. Then we will ban you for playing off meta."

you don't need permission to do what you want or play the way you like rest of your team disagree that's there problem you're most likely gonna be punished when you didn't break any rules by riot rules, you will be banned for creating a negative experience for your teammate which is a load of crap simply because you're not the one creating it it's their mentality that is and their lack of skill to adapt to it. But riot need spacegoat there for come the dilema. let's go back in time season 2-3 roaming was a big thing now you move an inch you get ban.

I would think there would have to be a minimum of your ADC saying OK to you doing an off meta support style. I would also think the Jungler should be weighing in because the jungler technically plays 4 lanes, jungle farming and visiting 3 lanes as off-support. So I would say there is a bare minimum of 2 people of having to agree to this.

I'm a very "go with the flow" kind of guy and when I play mid and if my bot lane wants to do something off meta, the only condition I have for them is that they have to intend to win the game with their combo and that this isn't just a game for laughs. So long as they play to win and they're not trying to waste my time, then I'm OK with them trying it in normals. In ranked, I'm a little more hesitant and would want more people voicing their opinion and a discussion in pre-game chat to make sure we can still synergize end game.

However, I typically play mid and support and I can't speak for every person.

The boards are a representative microcosm of the entire league community as a whole, not just outliers. And in here you guys ARE a vocal minority, which is why the nunu thread (original one) has almost 700 upvotes. And I'm sure there were plenty of you meta slaves that down voted it too, so that number actually could be closer to 1,000.

If you disagree with what riot says on their support page about what is and isn't reportable, and still grief and report others for going off meta or disagreeing with tactics, then yes you are a meta slave.

Support and ADC work off of each other in the meta, one requires the other.

I believe that a top lane player can execute a strange playstyle such as counter jungling with smite with very little adaptation of the rest of your team. But support or ADC? If your tactic involves leaving the lane for long periods of time your lane partner is forced to completely change how they play (which they may not be prepared to do).

Exactly. So we should report those players that flat out refuse to let anyone play off meta because they simply "don't want it"; they are making a negative environment for the rest of the team by being anti-off-meta whiners and griefing.

What about the one-tricks in general? What about the guys that pick Yasuo even though we don't agree and then go 0/12? Should they also get banned?
